Thursday, December 22, 2011. Most of the questions I get lately have to do with numbness, my face, and retainers. So, here's the lowdown. The white circles (on the sides of my top lip) have probably 80-90% feeling. I don't notice that these are numb unless I pull on them or tweak them. The blue circles are the sides of my chin. Monday, August 30, 2010. The splint is improving. I played clarinet for a long while today (after taking the summer off hoping to help with jaw pain) and my jaw was quite sore and my head was throbbing - the instant I put the splint in at home my headache lessened. I'm still not overly enthused about it - I'm not sure it's doing all the good it was supposed to. It's also giant and looks quite humorous in - I look like a linebacker. I'll post a picture as soon as I remember. That would make me so sad!

Atenas' Double Jaw Surgery! On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion. My name is Atenas, I am going to be having double jaw surgery on August 12th to correct a class 3 malocclusion. I'm getting a Lefort 1 osteotomy, and "reconstruction of mandibular rami a/o sagittal split".whatever that means. I hope it means I get a banana split afterwards! Atenas' Double Jaw Surgery! On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion. Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Surgery numero dos complete! I had my surgery this morning to remove the stitch from the base of my nose that was bugging me a lot. It went really well, the longest part was sitting in the waiting room! I am not in any pain and I am leaving for NYC tomorrow so I have to be all healed up. Good luck to Mindy who is in the midst of her jaw surgery journey! My mommy and I :).

Atenas' Double Jaw Surgery! On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Finally time for a real update :) I finally have TIME for it! So I guess I have to start from last month! In terms of swelling, its like 80% gone, just some left right next to my nose. I had gotten all feeling back in my face/jaw, but after I started chewing I have slowly started to not be able to feel my bottom lip and cheek anymore :( This happen to anyone else?

So, I have an infection in the nylon stitch that is holding my nose together. Its painful and not very fun. More later because I have loads of homework right now! Also, I got into college! Accepted into Gonzaga University! Accepted into Seattle University and University of Portland! 3 Kings day, got the baby :). Bananas and Pudding erryday. ToK 2011-2012. Update - CT SCAN.

Atenas' Double Jaw Surgery! On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion. Friday, December 23, 2011. Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas tree! I am the worst blogger of all time! I have been doing great with eating for the past 2 months and all of a sudden I can only open my mouth half the time I try. And my swelling has gone up again! I think its because if the screw coming through my nose :/ I found that out during my last ortho appointment! Weird swelling that came back.

Atenas' Double Jaw Surgery! On August 12th 2011 I got double jaw surgery to correct a class III malocclusion. Thursday, April 26, 2012. Nothing new really to say, I have another appointment to see my ortho on wednesday and hopefully its my last appointment before getting my braces off. My trip to New York last month went great and there were no complications with the surgery. I was able to eat the next day just fine! 24 hours after surgery - at the airport. Ate a hot dog on Thursday! Ready for the play!

This is just a bit about what I have gone through up until now regarding jaw/ortho work! October 2002 - August 2004: braces for 22 months on 4 top teeth. 2005: "Space Keeper" to keep my upper arch stable. 2007: Expander on top teeth. June 2008 - June 2009: Full top braces. I got bottom braces at some point. January 2011: Wisdom teeth removed. August 13th 2011: JAW SURGERY!
