The St. Joseph River Basin Commission exists to conserve, enhance, and promote the natural resources and benefits of the Watershed for present and future generations by providing vision, leadership and means. HUC8 watershed (HUC# 04050001) being part of the Lake Michigan Basin. Drainage area of 4,682 mi. Composes 1.6% of the Lake Michigan Basin. Largest watershed draining to Lake Michigan. 1,641 mi. of significant tributaries flow in the basin. 400 lakes are utilized for swimming, boating and fishing.
