Saturday, June 12, 2010. Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. This month Princess Victoria of Sweden got married, and Stockholm was all about the wedding. This time we were going to be in Sweden for six full days, and even though that's a day longer than we were there over December, the time flew by. The day that we got to Stockholm, we spent the...

Study Abroad: Sixteen Going on Seventeen

http://www.sjstudyabroad.blogspot.com/2010/05/sixteen-going-on-seventeen.html

Saturday, May 29, 2010. Sixteen Going on Seventeen. After my short experience in the World Fashion Center, I was still 38 minutes early, so I sat and drank coffee at this coffee shop with all sorts of organic juices, and carrot muffins, and that sort of thing. As far as how you could spend your last two days EVER being sixteen, the two days at the Bovag Krant were pretty good. And the next day was Friday. all of a sudden I wasn't sixteen anymore. Study Abroad: The Lilacs Bloom Here in May Too

http://www.sjstudyabroad.blogspot.com/2010/05/lilacs-bloom-here-in-may-too.html

Monday, May 31, 2010. The Lilacs Bloom Here in May Too. Technically I turned seventeen on Friday, May 21'st. But we had decided to celebrate it the Sunday afterwards because then the whole family could come, and I could have the Dutch birthday party that I've been waiting for all year. Everyone drank tea with the cake, and we sat outside for another couple of hours. Didn't I tell you? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Study Abroad: October 2009

http://www.sjstudyabroad.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 30, 2009. High Bars and Other Things I Can't Jump Over. Mostly that's for myself, because it's not Halloween here, so no one else is telling me Happy Halloween. I'm sure all of you in the U.S. have plenty of people telling you Happy Halloween, you probably don't need to hear it from me. Not that Halloween is a very important holiday, or anything. Thursday, October 29, 2009. On the way back from Sacre Coeur the first thing we wanted to do was eat, since it was almost 4:00. We sat in a ...

Caitlin in Holland: Scheveningen

http://caitlininholland.blogspot.com/2009/11/scheveningen.html

Thursday, November 12, 2009. So last weekend I went to the beach in Scheveningen with my host parents. We were very lucky because the weather was beautiful! We walked along the water and then down the pier. At the end of the pier there is a place for ice skating AND bungee jumping! I've always wanted to try bungee jumping (don't worry mom, I resisted the temptation, ahah) but unfortunately it is against AFS regulations to do anything of the kind due to insurance etc. See more photos here. Caitlin in Holland: Time keeps on slipping, slipping..

http://caitlininholland.blogspot.com/2010/02/time-keeps-on-slipping-slipping.html

Saturday, February 27, 2010. Time keeps on slipping, slipping. I'm aware that I've been here for over half the year but It only really hit me today. With a mere four months of my exchange year left, I literally cannot believe how the fast time has gone. The foto is from my own orientation camp back in September! I guess I'll end this post with a few things I'm really excited about in the future:. My mom and her boyfriend coming to visit. NEXT WEEK! Getting to know the new exchange students better! Mijn J...

Caitlin in Holland: CARNIVAL!

http://caitlininholland.blogspot.com/2010/02/carnival.html

Tuesday, February 16, 2010. This past weekend was Carnival in the Netherlands! I went to a city called Breda, where one of the largest Carnival celebrations is held. Carnival is this huge festival celebrated widley throughout Europe, and basically (or at least in my opinion) its kind of like a combination of Mardi Gras, Halloween, and a circus convention! Hope you all had a great Valentines weekend! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. For the NOM in NOMAD: Budapest.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010. I was in the news! I was in the newspaper! Here's a photo of the article, and if you feel so inclined to attempt to read the actual thing (bear in mind.it's dutch! Then click on the photo and it will take you to a bigger, more readable version. Last week a journalist from my town's local newspaper called up to ask if I would be interested in an interview. I know most of you are wondering what it says, so just for you guys I'm going to try and translate it for you. Caitlin has...

http://caitlininholland.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 20, 2009. So It's been over a month since I last wrote. There's no denying it, I'm a terrible blogger. A lot has happened the past few weeks, instead of giving an overall summery I think I will do a series of posts focusing on individual events. The second day we played dumb bonding games (come on, what's a group trip with out team building? Which I really didn't enjoy, mostly because It was early, freezing, and I had a lingering cold from earlier in the week. The original plan for t...
