Twirly Needlefish: Ravellenic Games - Day One
http://www.twirlyneedlefish.com/2012/07/ravellenic-games-day-one.html
Saturday, July 28, 2012. Ravellenic Games - Day One. Well, yesterday's cast on didn't go quite as planned, but I made some progress nonetheless! The opening ceremonies of the Olympics were not aired live here, so I cast on my swatch listening to Weezer on Pandora. Probably sacrilege, but I considered it an acceptable substitute. ;o). I was lucky enough to get gauge on my first try, so I cast on the actual project and managed to get 36 rows into the back before turning in for the night. See? The floats ar...

Twirly Needlefish: May 2011
http://www.twirlyneedlefish.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Late in April I saw a couple of passing mentions of something called "Project Spectrum" on Twitter. Being the nosy type, I started digging around and found this blog:. Apparently, I am quite late to the party, and this is the fifth round of Project Spectrum! Here is Lolly's original description:. The idea of Project Spectrum is simply a celebration of the colors. I love color, and what could be better inspiration/focus? Lolly's Tumblr Blog: http:/ projectspectrum.tumblr.com/. Faceb...

Some Knitting Required: January 2006
http://someknitreq.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
This refers to my yarn stash. however, as I continue to learn and grow along life's path, it could easily apply to me. Monday, January 30. Good News and Bad News. Good News: My stress about all my unfinished projects has diminished. Bad News: My lace class was cancelled. Good News: Turning a heel isn't the difficult trick I was led to believe. Bad News: I can't read the pattern instructions for a heel gusset to save my life. Took me three tries to get it right. Located in the house. 1 Anderson, Indiana.

Some Knitting Required: December 2005
http://someknitreq.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html
This refers to my yarn stash. however, as I continue to learn and grow along life's path, it could easily apply to me. Thursday, December 29. The one from 2003 was Rowan Biggy Print. It was a yarn that I had seen in my LYS. I was fascinated that it called for size US36 needles. It's been off the needles but in pieces for some months. (In case it isn't obvious, I like to knit, not seam.) So, I decided to hedge my bets for future unassembled sweaters. I have finished it! Posted by Jae at 4:48 PM. My husban...

Twirly Needlefish: August 2012
http://www.twirlyneedlefish.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 2, 2012. Early this year, a friend of my dad's asked me to repair a sweater. I enthusiastically accepted and promptly forgot. She reminded me in March, and I headed over to The Spinning Loft. This was my first repair, though I have several pair of hand-knit socks awaiting the same fate. I essentially just duplicate stitched over the existing threads, as best I could. It's a bit more difficult to do in a complex cable pattern. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Twirly Needlefish: January 2012
http://www.twirlyneedlefish.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 2, 2012. Well, I guess "sparse" was a bit of an understatement! My apologies for the complete lack of posting through the holidays, but be reassured that the time was spent with wool and with family - my two favorite things. I hope your holidays were equally warm and wonderful! As anticipated, I knit right up until (and through! Christmas, and managed to get almost all of my gifts finished and delivered. What I completely flaked out on was photographing them beforehand! By Heidi Lehman (a...

Thursday, February 24, 2005. Posted by craftygal7388 at 2/24/2005. Saturday, February 19, 2005. Philosopher's Wool Workshop part 1. Last night was the Philosopher's Wool. In Lansing, MI. The first wonderful thing was that I drove all by myself and made it! The class was great! Of course, now that I'm home, I had to look at the hand out and book to remind myself. She said that 3 hours of concentrated practice will really cement them in your mind and fingers. Now to find 3 hours of time alone ;-). I got my...
