Imminent, but way too late. The way I see it, the US and the West really dropped the ball on Syria. (Should've dropped the bombs sooner.). When the revolution began in Syria, it hadn't taken on the sectarian. And extremist tone it has now. The rebels were split between moderate Islamists. Back in November 2011.
