Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Thursday, August 16, 2012. Who does not see that the same authority which can establish Christianity, in exclusion of all other Religions, may establish with the same ease any particular sect of Christians, in exclusion of all other Sects? The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession.". In 1971 there was a court case between Lemon v. Kurtzman. The government's action must have a secular legislative purpose. http://circlesquared171.blogspot.com/2013/04/morally-straight.html
Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Friday, April 19, 2013. I'm not really a political person, yet people often think that I am. I freely acknowledge my own ignorance on most political issues, and I generally withhold commenting on things I know little about. But there are a few issues which can really stir me, such as gay marriage. Why the change of heart? Similarly, the Boy Scouts of America have recently changed their policy. On gays in their organization. While ...

Then, again in Biology, I heard an alternate explanation of the creation myth which allows for human evolution. In Genesis (Gen. 2:7). It refers to the "Breath of Life." In Hebrew, "breath" can be interpreted as "spirit." Therefore, god. Conflict between science and religion. July 27, 2013 at 8:42 PM. View my complete profile.

Circle Squared: MAGIC ERASER
http://circlesquared171.blogspot.com/2015/07/magic-eraser.html
Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Given this overwhelming tendency to stupidity and selfishness in myself and among our species, it is somewhat surprising to find the light of reason penetrating at all. The brilliant Schiller was wrong in his Joan of Arc when he said that "against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain." It is actually by means of the gods that we make our stupidity and gullibility into something ineffable. Having thou...

Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Wednesday, July 8, 2015. A HERETIC'S GUIDE TO MORMON HOMOPHOBIA. Recently, I have been asked by friends for reference materials on homosexuality. So I figured I would post some good places to start. For scientific materials, I would start with the American Psychological Association. These are some of my posts, which focus on legal rights and the implications of Mormon doctrine:. There are also films like " Philadelphia. OUT ON A LIMB.

It seems that I am not the only person having fun arguing with religious people on Facebook. A friend of mine, who has also left Mormonism, recently posted his thoughts on the current debacle between the Mormon Church and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), the fallout of which has devout Mormons squirming. Their objecti...

Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Thursday, January 27, 2011. I was raised to be homophobic. I didnt realize I was homophobic until I went to collage and found that I had gay friends. I had to choose to either shun them (like I was taught) or befriend them. I. The notion of a cure for the "disease" of homosexuality has been prevelant in the Church pretty much since the beginning. LDS social services use "reparative therapy" to cure homosexuality. Circle Squared: SKIP A BEATING
http://circlesquared171.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-have-tried-really-hard-not-to-let.html
Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Tuesday, April 3, 2012. To be said: the Mormon Church is bad for gays. So why is this relevant? People who think like this affect other people negatively despite their best intentions. This is doubly so when legislation (and church funds) are involved. But when it is within the church itself, it gets very personal very quickly and can do the most damage. Harmful, and in my opinion perpetuates ignorance and prejudice. ASPECT OF THE PACK.

Views on religion and atheism. Textual Analysis of the Book of Mormon. Thursday, July 2, 2015. Ordinarily I don't do much on Facebook. I scroll through my feed and look for amusing posts, but I haven't posted anything all year. Until yesterday. In one conversation at work a coworker laughingly noted that another Mormon coworker had posted a rainbow picture on Facebook (this has become a symbol of support for the gay community). This picture featured a Mormon temple with a rainbow overlay. I thoug...This ...
