Michelle Smith's Art Blog: Sunlit Lily
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2010/01/sunlit-lily.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. 21" x 14", Transparent Watercolor. It's finished. This was a fun painting; I love working with bright, vibrant colors. It turned out to be a bit of a challenge as the masking fluid damaged the surface of the paper very slightly making it harder to achieve a sharp line in places. A challenge is good, though. It teaches you a thing or two. So stunning with the added darks- wow. Good lord . your work is amazing! I am so glad you found me . cause now I have found you! Cheers , Helen.
Michelle Smith's Art Blog: Summer Fruit
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2011/02/summer-fruit.html
Tuesday, February 22, 2011. 15" x 12" - Transparent Watercolor. This was some of the sweetest fruit I had ever tasted; and it was as beautiful as it was delicious. I loved the way the sunlight was shining through the window and illuminating the cantaloupe slices from behind. It gave it a beautiful glow. Your work is so beautiful! I stand in awe! I love everything about it. Studio at the Farm. Aweeeeeeeeeezome. Stuuuuuning. The light is as good as it gets. Beautiful makes my mouth water).

Michelle Smith's Art Blog: Dewy Daisy
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2010/03/dewy-daisy-12-x-12-transparent.html
Wednesday, March 3, 2010. 12" x 12" - Transparent Watercolor. When I went outside the other morning, the sun was shining on the dew covered African Daisies in front of our house. They looked so pretty, I decided to do a (relatively) quick painting of one close-up. This is amazing, Michelle. Lucky you to have such wonderful inspiration right out your door! That looks way better than a quicky! Its beautiful and I love the water droplets! Well done you talent, you! Um yep . just quickly whipped this up!
Michelle Smith's Art Blog: In Your Face
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2011/06/in-your-face.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2011. In Your Face -. 11" x 15", Transparent Watercolor. Studio at the Farm. Well done, Michelle. And I agree with you about the hair - so difficult to make it look real and soft. Its been a long time. Anyway this is awesome. And the angle is also very interesting. Loved the title. very apt. :). I seldom use blue in my skin tone.yours looks good, though! Very nice, detailed portrait- I wonder how much patience was required by hair :). Prabal, Glad you liked the title. :) Thanks!
Michelle Smith's Art Blog: Backlit Orchids
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2010/01/backlit-orchids.html
Monday, January 4, 2010. 16" x 22", Transparent Watercolor. I'm breaking away from painting furry creatures for a bit. During the long, dreary days of winter, painting something vibrant and colorful helps lighten my mood. Hey, Michelle, its been awhile- welcome back to blogdom! Wonderfully beauteous, Michelle! Thank you, Constance. Yes, it has been a while. I hope to paint (and blog) more often. Michelle its stunning and so vibrant. Bravo. Thank you, Christiane. Thank you, Adrienne. Thank you, Tracey.
Michelle Smith's Art Blog: Ria
http://michellesmithart.blogspot.com/2011/03/ria.html
Tuesday, March 15, 2011. 13" x 11", Transparent Watercolor. I saw this young girl last year and was struck by how beautiful her eyes were. Her mom was gracious enough to allow me to take a few snapshots of her so I could practice portrait painting. I added the veil to add some color and interest to the portrait. It is a beautiful work, the shine in her eyes and the smile is caught with precision.even the shadows that her hair has formed a pattern on her face is perfect, Michelle! Thank you, Arti!

Wonderful news and such a beautiful piece!

Tuesday, May 17, 2011. 6" x 6", Transparent Watercolor. As a companion piece for " Toots. The painting I did of my Aunt's horse last year, I painted her dog, Renny, for her birthday gift this year. She seemed very happy when she received it and said it looked just like him. Amazing. I just can not understand how you do this life like portraits. Have no words. His eyes are glowing! I love that face. :) Youve captured that joyful, carefree look that so many dogs have. His eyes just sparkle.

Chantal's sketchies
Friday, July 8, 2011. More live model stuff from Weds. This week's model was really tall and lanky - not what I'm used to drawing! Posted by Chantal at 11:39 PM. Monday, July 4, 2011. Yeah so the 30-day drawing challenge turned into a 2-day event. Oh well. Some drawings from the live model sessions at Berri-UQAM. Note to self : when drawing a model in colour, do not depict her on a red cloth, even if that's what she's lying on in real life. Posted by Chantal at 11:16 PM. Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
