Wherever the road may lead. Monday, December 7, 2009. St Nicholas Day. a family tradition. This year I found homemade Chex mix, venison jerky, candy, and a few other things in my goodie box! It's a wonderful surprise from home. I also received another surprise in the mail this past week from my brother. a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree! I think I may have to put it up in my office! I continued the fun by sending my mom some flowers at work while dad was out deer hunting with the guys. Links to this post.

June 12 - July 3 . I will be participating in the International Polar Year 2009 Summer Field School in Svalbard. This will be my first trip overseas! 160;That would be the first time I've celebrated the 4th in Minnesota in 3 years!

Grizzley's. caribou. muskoxen. but one of the largest happened into my professor's backyard over the past couple of days. the Moose. Photo I took of the bull moose in the backyard munching on berries. His shoulders are about my height (5'6"). Thankfully the dog didn't notice the moose until we were safely inside. What if a moose charges?
