Mountain biking is popular in this area and there are many dedicated trails. Mountain bikes can be hired from shops in Thyon and Les Collons. Thyon / Les Collons:. Thyon / Les Collons is located in the French speaking part of the Swiss Alps, just 20 minutes drive from the capital of Valais, Sion. The village of Les Collons is on three terraces (1800m, 1850m, 1900m) and Thyon is situated just above at 2000m. Thyon / Les Collons has all the facilities of a small resort but it’s most compelling feature is that of it’s outstanding location, giving fantastic views of the Alps.
