about  | Skillet Season

https://skilletseason.wordpress.com/about

It's the season that never ends. Once upon a time I believed pizza was healthy. As long as I chose to top it with peppers and mushrooms, it was practically a salad if you asked me then. I ordered those bad boys twice a week. Back then, one 30-minute Zumba class per week was exercise enough. Skillet Season is my way to help people who feel like I felt: eating healthy is expensive, cooking is tricky, and foodies are dorks. Whatever you like, or whatever you don’t hate. This is a blog about mindful living a...

Roasted Vegetables | Skillet Season

https://skilletseason.wordpress.com/the-staples/roasted-vegetables

It's the season that never ends. They are a staple because vegetables are the most important food we eat, and there are few better ways to eat them than roasting them. So many of the recipes I I think of begin with roasted vegetables: from Pasta with Vegetables and Herbs. Begin by buying a variety of vegetables from the farmer’s market or grocery store. I always buy broccoli or cauliflower, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and string beans. Start by preheating the oven to 375. Toss them in a bowl with:.

The Staples | Skillet Season

It's the season that never ends. This page will house very basic recipes and techniques as I use them throughout my blog posts. For now, check out:. I also am going to compile a list of school lunch ideas for my child-rearing followers. Give this page a couple of weeks. It is going to be incredible. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Homemade Pasta | Skillet Season

https://skilletseason.wordpress.com/the-staples/homemade-pasta

It's the season that never ends. There are two ways to go about this– and really, it could be a good metaphor for so many endeavors life throws at us. The first method is old school. From the view of the chef, the look of the work space is rustic and cool, BUT it requires effort and patience. You will need a cutting board and a fork. The second requires a food processor. And the ability to push a button. Oh technology! How it robs us of the hard work and the beauty both! On the bottom of it. Soon the mix...

Farewell to Maine | Skillet Season

https://skilletseason.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/farewell-to-maine

It's the season that never ends. July 20, 2015. July 22, 2015. With many ideas for next year, with beautiful memories of heavenly views during our hikes, and with 5 pounds of mussels and clams from Rats, we head out of Bar Harbor and back toward home. Like an obsession with tortilla meals prepared directly on the counter topped with slabs of tomato cut sloppily with the crappy cabin knife. Sure, the music may not play live from Uncle Matt’s guitar, but we will cope. I’m letting our recent discovery...

Pasta Dough – ilivingwell

https://ilivingwell.wordpress.com/2015/06/27/139

Ashley's Food Blog. 2 cups of flour. 1 teaspoon olive oil. Begin this recipe by mounding the flour on a clean working surface. Next, hollow out the center of the flour creating a bowl. Break the eggs in a separate dish and whisk together. Poor the eggs into the center of the flour bowl. If this is your first time do all of this in a bowl! If you are not careful and break the sides of the flour wall the eggs will spill out everywhere! I learned the hard way ) haha. Here comes the hard part! Once pasta is ...

Whole30 Day 25 | The Unsoiled Seed

https://theunsoiledseed.wordpress.com/2015/10/17/whole30-day-25

October 17, 2015. Quick post for today. Another successful Whole30 day has come and gone. Last Saturday of the challenge, and hopefully the last time I have to bring my food when we go out to eat. 😦. How I felt: awesome. This past week is the best I have ever felt in my life. What I learned: it takes willpower to bring your own salad to Panera. Lunch: turkey burger, avocado, eggs and carrots. Dinner: salad with tuna- no pic 😦. Next up, Day 26. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Whole30 Day 28 | The Unsoiled Seed

https://theunsoiledseed.wordpress.com/2015/10/20/whole30-day-28

October 20, 2015. Two more days to go! Today, I wrapped up Day 28 with no problem. Three awesome meals and I’m feeling great! How I Felt: Great. What I learned: Even though I’m the only one doing the challenge, this has been a difficult process for the whole family. My wife gets credit for awesome dinners and encouraging me throughout this whole process. Breakfast: the usual eggs and mushrooms. Lunch: Salad with lemon, nuts, dried fruit, tilapia and beets. Heading into Day 29! Whole30 Day 29 →.

Whole30 Day 24 | The Unsoiled Seed

https://theunsoiledseed.wordpress.com/2015/10/16/whole30-day-24

October 16, 2015. This is it. The last week of this journey has started. Today, I finished up my last Whole30 Friday and I’m heading into the last whole30 weekend. Strong momentum from this week. I can do this last bit. How I felt: tons of energy, even after dinner and into the evening. It’s crazy how food fuels me. It’s like I eat and have instant energy, instead of my body working to digest bad food, it’s working quickly to give me energy from the good food. Breakfast: eggs and sausage. Day 25 is next!

SWITCHING TO CLOTH DIAPERS IS AN EASY CHOICE. October 28, 2013. October 28, 2013. As a mom, an extra load of laundry isn’t that big of a deal. Whole30 Day 27 | The Unsoiled Seed

https://theunsoiledseed.wordpress.com/2015/10/19/whole30-day-27

October 19, 2015. Coming down to the last few days here. Finished up the last Monday of the challenge and feeling pretty good. How I felt: Had a few dreams that I messed up on the challenge, eating sugary foods. Thank goodness it was only a dream. I’m too far into this to not make it over the finish line. What I learned: This has been the hardest will-power challenge I have ever faced. It will be a great learning experience. Fish, beets and fried potatoes. Heading into the last 3 days! On Whole30 Day 11.
