The Black and Blue Press: Disappear Here: An Art Exhibition by Matt Skiba and Heather Gabel
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2013/10/disappear-here-art-exhibition-by-matt.html
Disappear Here: An Art Exhibition by Matt Skiba and Heather Gabel. The other night, I went and checked out Disappear Here: a collaboration by the Alkaline Trio dude and the wife of Against Me! S lead singer. I wasn't really impressed. All of the pieces looked like Xeroxes of textbook pictures of old relics and ruins with little. Stencils of some branch. Spray-painted on. What's more? So here's what their Facebox event page says:. Https:/ www.facebook.com/events/532428566877431/. Blag Dahlia (The Dwarves).

The Black and Blue Press: Interview w/ Cody and Ray from Teenage Bottlerocket
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2009/01/interview-w-cody-and-ray-from-teenage.html
Interview w/ Cody and Ray from Teenage Bottlerocket. There are people in the world who believe the more technically proficient and lyrically profound a band is, the better they are. Then there are those of us who realized long ago that raw power and heartfelt energy (two elements that make up the very soul of punk rock) could more than make up for any amount of guitar lessons or thesaurus thumping. How did Teenage Bottlerocket come about? I'm not sure how it happened. Ray: The local scene in Laramie is p...

The Black and Blue Press: Interview: Blag Dahlia (Dwarves)
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2007/08/interview-blag-dahlia-dwarves.html
Interview: Blag Dahlia (Dwarves). PHOTO COURTESY OF Nate Bettinger. Big D- Let's start off with an obvious, yet often neglected question: where did the Dwarves get their name? Wow man, years ago we just drew up a list of names. There were a bunch of bogus ones on there and the Dwarves was the only one everybody liked. So we said "alright, we'll be the Dwarves. It'll be a sixties type punk thing." I think one of the ones we didn't use Puss Antler. I don't know, I'm glad we're not Puss Antler. Doing the hi...

The Black and Blue Press: Ben Weasel at Odds with Documentarians
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2012/10/ben-weasel-at-odds-with-documentarians.html
Ben Weasel at Odds with Documentarians. Whether fair or not, Ben Weasel. Has come to be known as the "infamous SXSW Incident". Now, it seems he has beef with the very people interested in producing a Screeching Weasel documentary. It's hard to say exactly what went on between the two parties but what is certain is that Ben has. Severed ties with the makers of t. He film, tentatively titled. What follows are excerpts of their ensuing Facebook spat. Screeching Weasel: The Movie. This was not going to be a ...

The Black and Blue Press: Interview: Joe Queer (The Queers)
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2006/09/interview-joe-queer-queers.html
Interview: Joe Queer (The Queers). Dorian: Whats shakin Joe, How's it going these days? Joe: It's busy as hell for The Queers haha. We have lots of stuff going on these days. Dorian: Let's start off with the name of your band, The Queers. For those who don't already know, how did you come up with it? Joe: We just wanted a name that people would remember and that was sort of provocative. It pissed a lot of people off in Portsmouth, NH. Dorian: So it has nothing to do with the bands sexual orientation?

The Black and Blue Press: Riot Fest Chicago 2012 (pictorial)
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2012/10/riot-fest-chicago-2012-pictorial.html
Riot Fest Chicago 2012 (pictorial). This year's Riot Fest was, well, a Riot! Actually maybe it more resembled a three-ringed circus, as there were clowns, freakshows, randomly roving and scantily clad marching bands, professional wrasslin', carnival rides (and of course that means carnies). Add to that 50 punk (or punkish) bands that played on (something like) 8 different stages, factor in the copious amounts of booze and its not hard to imagine the rock'n'roll weekend that ensued. The Black and Blue Press: Interview: Pink Lincolns (Chris Barrows, Dorsey Martin, Kevin Coss)
http://theblackandbluepress.blogspot.com/2008/10/interview-pink-lincolns-chris-barrows.html
Interview: Pink Lincolns (Chris Barrows, Dorsey Martin, Kevin Coss). All photos by Lindsay Letts. Big D: Let's start off with an obvious question, what's the story behind the name? There's no real profound meaning to it. Alot of people have read into it, but the truth is we were just sitting around, a band without a name, and Dorsey came up with the Pink Lincolns. It had a sort of ring to it, so we just ran with it. It doesn't really mean anything. Big D: How did you guys hook up? Big D: No shit? Big D: ...
