Monday, February 1, 2010. Bertie's arrival in Israel. Well, I've just arrived in Israel and what a shock the weather is to me. I left the snow of Scotland last week to this lovely sunshine. Couldn't wait to get out of my padded envelope and get some sun on my back. My cousin, Myrtle the Spurtle, was happy to show me around the garden and fend off my hosts dog who wanted to play *Go fetch* with me. He might have had that on his mind, but I had PASSION on mine. That Myrtle is a real looker. How it all began.

Saturday, February 28, 2009. Had a great time in Canberra and there is so much to see and do - I must go back there again sometime as there are a couple of places I want to go back and see! Anyway, arrived safely at Exeter. In the Southern Highlands of NSW. My next chaperone wasn't at home so I spent a couple of days resting in my package and it was nice to kick back and relax after such a hectic couple of visits. Firstly, we went to the south coast of NSW, Nowra. Anyway here's me watching the bowls.

A kind of foodie experiment. This is basically Nigella Lawson’s recipe, with a couple of changes that I made to make it more to my taste. 375g dark chocolate (I use Ritter Sport Halb Bitter). 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. 300g white chocolate, chopped coarsely. Tin measuring approx. 33 x 23 x 5 cm. Preheat the oven to 180 C/gas mark 4. Line your brownie pan with baking paper. Melt the butter and chocolate together in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. Measure the flour into another bowl and add the salt.
