Yesterday, my local minor league baseball team, known since 1998 as the Akron Aeros, changed its name to the RubberDucks. Nevertheless, from a rebranding standpoint I have to wonder how much thought really went into the name change. It’s weak for several reasons:. The mascot isn’t exactly “athletic.”. C’mon The first thing I thought of when I saw the announcement was Ernie signing in the bathtub. There are better options.

In the wake of a very contentious election, this week’s social media theme for a number of my friends has been “unity.” I love it, but I’m skeptical of their authenticity considering most ( not all. Polluting the web since 2011. May 18, 2015. I rarely get emotionally invested in a television program. At most, I view my favorite shows as a welcome 30-60 minute distraction from the real world. Mad Men was a rare exception. I was sucked in from the beginning. The characters were compelling, the storylines were thought-provoking and the general production scenery, music, etc. was captivating. What wasn’t to like? Mad Men’s finale offered neither. It just kind of happened and then the credits rolled.
