Thursday, April 4, 2013. Finally, a delivery! I've been keeping busy. Teaching ASA classes and skippering charters for Sailing Florida. It's all great, but I've been hankering for opportunities to get out of Tamp Bay. Finally, I've got one - delivery of a nicely equipped Jeanneau 50 from Palm Harbor Marina in West Palm Beach to the Vinoy Marina in St Petersburg. The drive to West Palm begins tomorrow before dawn. Saturday, March 9, 2013. During a recent overnight at the Twin Dolphin Marina I saw these sister-ships and had to stop and take a photo. Back in the 80s I captained an older sister to these for a year and a half cruise to South America and back. It was my best gig ever. The Fleming is an incredibly capable and comfortable cruising vessel. Every time I see one I have to stop and look at those lines. Every time I see one it conjures up powerful memories of that amazing cruise. Boca Grande swing bridge.

Friday, January 18, 2013. Capt Larry and the Lagoon. Tuesday I drove down to Capt Larry’s house in Bradenton for an evening of reminiscing. Like me, Larry has history in the Virgin Islands. More specifically, for a time he hung out in Benner Bay, which was known by locals as the Lagoon, and that’s where I lived and worked for most of my many years on St Thomas.
