Iron Sharpens Iron: Chicken Curry
http://meanfreepath.blogspot.com/2010/04/chicken-curry.html
Wednesday, April 28, 2010. This is a new segment where I share recipes I've developed. I've honed my cooking/baking skills as a sort of hobby and I'd like to share some of the finding with my adoring audience. I've been working on this recipe for many many months. And I think I have finally gotten it to where I want. Now just so you know, my first 3 or so attempts were bad. I mean really bad. It's hard to put into words just how terrible they were. Anyway I've come a long way. 1 inch ginger root - minced.

Iron Sharpens Iron: August 2009
http://meanfreepath.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2009. It has oft been discussed that there exist no such written rules to the highly popular card game Dritzak. Your first reaction to this is most assuredly one of incredulity. How can such a game rooted in so much historical significance not have a written set of rules? History of the Game:. Legend has it that the true name of the game cannot be uttered using any human phonemes. The name Dritzak. Was decreed to be the game of the gods. Later, Prometheus tricked Zeus into teaching...

Wednesday, April 1, 2009. It's Getting Hot in Here. The chairman of the board claimed that " Conservatives like me think the evidence (for human contributions to global warming) is a bunch of hooey. My first reaction is did he just use the phrase 'bunch of hooey'? My third reaction is to question the generality that rejecting climate change is a conservative thing. The Pew Research Center somewhat substantiates that claim. I think my real question though is why. Why are people opposed to this concept?

Iron Sharpens Iron: What is your Quest?
http://meanfreepath.blogspot.com/2010/04/what-is-your-quest.html
Thursday, April 15, 2010. What is your Quest? You know that scene in The Last Crusade where Indiana Jones has to make his ' leap of faith. That's one of my favorite movie scenes ever. What makes this scene so powerful to me is the simple yet profound image of faith in action. Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see". Maybe Indy wasn't sure. Abel risked not having enough to eat. Noah risked looking foolish. Abraham risked the well being of his ...

Friday, October 23, 2009. But I have found a new one: Conservapedia. Now, I'm a somewhat conservative leaning person, but this site is the very definition of right wing nut job. As an aside, go there and search for liberal for a good laugh. However, there is a more serious concern that I wished to address. There is a project they have titled the Conservative Bible Project. All of this reminds me of a quote from Shepherd Book. And I think I'll end with it. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). An Apple a Day.

Iron Sharpens Iron: January 2010
http://meanfreepath.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 28, 2010. In my view, there is truth beyond our perception, because our perception is limited. But what makes that truth more real than what we can perceive with our senses. Why would God create us to be able to only sense what is less real? Maybe a better question is this. Why would God create a world that operates on a very strict set of rules that are able to be learned through sensory observation and God given reasoning only to violate them in the name of the supernatural? Maybe Or ...

Iron Sharpens Iron: March 2009
http://meanfreepath.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Argues that life begins at conception, but there is nothing wrong about terminating the pregnancy. From a utilitarian perspective, by terminating the pregnancy, the baby doesn't lose much (it has virtually no cognitive ability) but the mother has potentially much to gain. Peter Singer goes on to use this argument to even justify infanticide! However, I came across this article. The author goes on to say that just because a fetus is not a living soul does not necessarily justify...

Monday, June 8, 2009. Don't Try to Take Analogies Too Far. Apparently I haven't posted in a while. Sometimes if you yell at me for it I will have more motivation to do so. Anyway, I was riding back to Rochester on Saturday and I thought of this analogy. I thought I'd share it to appease my fan(s). That last paragraph looks like homework. FUN!
