Saturday, January 23, 2010. So what is Ashlyn up to these days as a 4 month old:. Smiles when she sees mom and dad. Coos, especially when she is getting her diaper changed. Prefers to suck on her thumb rather than a pacifier. Will occasionally clasp both her hands around her bottle, but is not able to hold it on her own yet. Will settle down when she is hungry and sees that mom or dad is making her a bottle. Still wearing size 0 to 3 month size clothes. Is beginning to be more okay with tummy time.

Saturday, January 1, 2011. We went to our church's Christmas Eve service as a family. This is a tradition that our family intends to continue because of the focus that it places on the true meaning of Christmas. Thursday, December 31, 2009. Christmas takes on a whole new meaning when you have a child. We spent Christmas lunch with Clay's family and then drove across town to spend Christmas dinner with my parents. Here is a picture of Ashlyn in her Christmas outfit. Monday, May 3, 2010. As the bluebonnets began to bloom I got excited about taking Ashlyn's picture in them. Little did I know that it would be quite an adventure. At first Ashlyn was not a fan of the bluebonnets. She would just cry when I set her down on the blanket. I tried to show her that the flowers were not going to hurt her. She was clinging to Clay and screaming when he tried to get her to sit in Santa's lap. Thus we settled for a mother-daugther picture with Santa, instead of a screaming Ashlyn with Santa. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. This past Sunday we had baby dedication at our church, Harris Creek. It was a special time in the life of our family, and such a blessing to be supported by our families and friends. We were asked to pick and read a Bible verse that expressed our prayer for our daughter. The verse that Clay and I chose for Ashlyn was Psalm 86:11-12:. Teach me your way, O Lord,. And I will walk in your truth;. Give me an undivided heart,. That I may fear your name,. I will glorify your name forever.

Sunday, July 4, 2010. Yesterday morning Clay and I took Ashlyn. Here she is looking at the meerkats. She laughed and flapped her arms up and down with excitement as she watched them run all over the place. Watching the elephant eat with dad. Face to face with a giraffe - mom's favorite! Ashlyn is quite the busy body these days. This last month she learned how to crawl and then a week and a half later she was pulling up. She is just growing up so quickly. Her stats for 9 months are:. Weight: 16 1/2 lbs.

Monday, January 3, 2011. We enjoyed Christmas morning at our house before heading to Clay's parent's house for lunch and then onto my parent's house for dinner. It was a wonderful day that we were able to enjoy with both of our families. Ashlyn LOVES her Little Tike Cozy Coupe. Once we showed her how to get in it she did not want to get out to open the rest of her presents. Reaching for her other presents. The presents were brought to her and she insisted on not moving from the car while she opened them.
