Moving on is an ongoing journal of my time and travels in France and Mexico. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. The Grateful Dead: Part Two. El Panteón de Xoxocotlan, Oaxaca. The night of October 31st was the night in Xoxocotlan to illuminate the tombs of loved ones. The cemetery was aflame with candles of all sizes, and families camped out for the night around the tombs of family members who had passed on. There were tombs of all types, some rather elaborate. Not sure which was which! It was truly magical.

Toronto writer Kathleen Gauer has recently published a children’s picture book that will delight children, young and old. Her grandchildren who love to swing and dream inspired her to write this story and even appear in one of the illustrations in the book. High in the Sky is a bouncy, fun-to-read-aloud story about a child whose solution to boredom and restlessness is riding on a tire swing. Down like a roller coaster. Those tickles in my tummy! Then rushing up once more I go. The feeling is so yummy!

You stand ankle deep in water staring past your feet into the endless sea of stones below them. One rock, one perfect rock, one perfect idea to send out bouncing across the surface. Each bounce is unique, inspired by, but not identical to the initial idea cast out in front of you. Each bounce creates its own waves. Each bounce changes the water's surface in its own way. The expression or the perception? If expression does not equal perception does that mean success or failure?
