Monday, September 1, 2014. My Back to School Adventure. Friends I am totally on a Back to School adventure! We are on location while our permanent classrooms are in limbo with the electric company. A local church has allowed us to hold class at their facility until our classrooms are ready. FINGER CROSSED for THIS WEEK! I am literally teaching out of a wagon. Monday, April 20, 2015. Friends I am so excited to tell you all about this new guided reading game we have been using in class. I absolutely LOVE it. The game is called The Reading Game. Check it out below! This is a sample of the quick read cards. The pictures are super clear and sharp. I really like that the sight words are bold. For the students to zoom in on. Just look at the smiles on these kiddo's faces! The students felt immediate success after working with the cards and books! End of the year.

Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Teaching Sight Words - some ideas. There are many ways to practice Sight Words. These are some of them:. Select 5 to 10 new words each week to teach. Make your own cards or print my cards onto hard cardboard. Show the word to the child. Say: This is the word /XXXX/. Ask: What letter is at the beginning of this word? Let children place the cards in abc order. Use plastic letters to "write" the words. You can use the cards with your children to create their own sentences.
