SkiSickness

I went to MEC today. I remembered some advertisement from a magazine about a folding helmet, so I made an inquiry with the friendly help. Indeed, MEC has folding helmets! The problem is this: the folding helmet reduces the volume of the helmet by a small amount (not as much as I'd hoped), but the folding helmet felt significantly heavier than the helmet I already have. I won't be buying a folding helment. The ***** is really happy and I'm going to scratch my ski bases tomorrow. Warm Days and Memories.

SkiSickness: December 2006

http://skisickness.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Two Good, Too Bad. Hursday we had a very good tour. First, we went up Snoqualmie Mountain, where trail-breaking duties were shared by the H Bomb, SS. And our new friend Christophe. Christophe taught me how the French say "break trail," while also helping with the duties. Merci pour faire la trace, mon ami. We carefully skied an avalanche-wary route into Commonwealth Basin. Thence we skinned and booted up Red Mountain. The turns down Red Mountain were amazing. Posted by SkiSickness at 4:14 PM. Posted by S...

SkiSickness: November 2006

Slot to be Thankful for. He weather machine is in proper working order. Phrases like 'onshore flow' and 'cold upper low' make us squeal like pigs going to the powder trough with each short wave that comes ashore. To whom we'll refer as BS. Decided to check the snowpack's progress this morning. They went to lowly Snoqualmie Pass, at the paltry elevation of 3,000', a mere 52 miles from Seattle. Here is a report from S. We thought it would be a longshot to ski the Slot Couloir. B. Time had nearly expired fo...

SkiSickness: Extra-Stoked On Squamish

http://skisickness.blogspot.com/2009/08/extra-stoked-on-squamish.html

Oo bad I couldn't find a "partenaire" for today. I'm psyched to rock climb for the first time in years, more psyched than ever, and I really need to up the game if I'm ever going to tackle the Grand Wall. Oh well. Je vais à la plage. Had a splendid day with Ziff on Saturday, climbing Rock On then Squamish Buttress. Hooked on Squamish works for me! Rock On and Squamish Buttress. Thanks again for the great day, Ziff. SkiSickness: Big Ballin'

http://skisickness.blogspot.com/2009/09/big-ballin.html

I'm trying to get ready for some work and play in Europe here, losing my mind like normal, and I went to the bank today. Extra exchange fees on each transaction really bother me. Thought I'd get some Euros. All they had was this, the biggest single bill I've ever had:. Note the reading material. Yeah. Posted by SkiSickness at 1:12 AM. Theres not even any religious propaganda on it, BORING ;). I thought you were headed to Finland. Betting against the dollar, eh? Dude, hope you are killing it over there.

SkiSickness: Mmmmmm Rat Chow!

http://skisickness.blogspot.com/2009/08/mmmmmm-rat-chow.html

Atch what kinda rat chow you eat! NY times blog article. Choose your high-performance foods accordingly? Clearly, it's all about that sweet milk. Posted by SkiSickness at 8:49 PM. So the starved rats will run mazes for milk out of sheer desperation, while the ones getting plenty to eat are like why the f am I running a maze anyway? Shit, I should be a scientist for mickyDs. This one tells me you should keep on trying to socialize on the beach if you wanna remember your formulas. BOOM go the particles.

What skiing's all about. The ongoing quest to find out what it is and isn't about. Friday, March 30, 2007. It's better over there. Well I don't know if cat skiing is what it's all about, but certainly skiing in the high alpine in the BC Rockies and Selkirks is. Day 3-5: Ah, there we go. The snow dries out overnight, and everything above the rain line (300 ft above the lodge) is dry powder again. It's hard to believe that actually happens, since it never happens in the Cascades. What skiing's all about. The ongoing quest to find out what it is and isn't about. Friday, August 10, 2007. Should have brought my skis. There is still snow left in NY state. My brother, nephews and I found a snow patch today, big enough to make at least two turns on. Crazy. Kam would love it I guess. I would update with a photo, but there is no way to get pics off the camera right now. I'm astonished I can even get online - someone around here has an unsecured wireless broadband network.
