The Garage Blog: January 2015
http://skithegarage.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. Summit ridge of Wichita 1,700 ft above I70. Note: We learned that you don't have to do this knife edge scramble to summit Wichita. Stay lookers left of the rock band if you follow our route (see below) and you can avoid this airy scramble. Matt and I started calling this ski tour the "Frisco Showcase" because it showcases a few of the best lines within shouting distance from Frisco's. The Frisco Showcase route:. Wichita Mountain 10,855 ft via Willey's Way; and 3) finish on.
The Garage Blog: 34 in Moab
http://skithegarage.blogspot.com/2015/05/turning-34-in-moab.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. When my girlfriend initially asked what I wanted to do for my 34th birthday a month ago, my initial response was "Lots of activities." After all, we. But Kenzie essentially gave me the green light to spend the day doing anything that I wanted. "It's your birthday weekend, babe! I'll do whatever you want to do! She'd say. Almost challenging me to come up with something. So the wheels began turning and when that happens things can get scary. We drove into Arches National Park fueling ...

Sunday, February 8, 2015. Sneva Peak, 12,242 ft. Matt dropping into Sneva's SW couloirs in perfect corn. Our approximate route (red up, green down). Sneva Peak. We skied the two prominent couloirs from the summit. Matt on the lookers left, and steeper of the two, couloir. Saturday, February 7, 2015. Peak One, 12,933 ft. Tenmile Peak from Peak One. Our route (up and down). Not spring snow conditions. An extended Friday happy hour took its toll on Brad O at the summit. Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Second, ...

Wednesday, November 19, 2014. El Cajon de los Arenales. My very official looking climbing permit that cost me $520. I won't be climbing anything that requires similar beaucratic approvals and costs again, ever. Referring to the 15k of rough canyon road and our golf cart sized car - as he patted the roof as a gesture that we could continue on. Eric on the 5th of 6 10.b crux pitch of Armonica. Eric testing out our new Jet Boil Sumo. This reminded me of one if my favorite movies, A River Runs Through It.

Tuesday, June 18, 2013. A few weeks back I crashed in the Growler. Towards the end of my downtime I picked up a bike I've been thinking about for quite a while. During the last year or so I've strayed away from the "road" bike. Mountain bikes are more fun to ride and they are far more versatile. Plus canyon roads can be quite sketchy early and late in the year with debris from the weather on the roads. Its also one of the nicer segments on the Colorado Trail! Pre fire ban fire. Monday, November 26, 2012. Rays Mountain bike park. Video courtesy of Jim Parman. It was good to get in a week of riding with great weather and a short week of work during Thanksgiving. 21,000 plus feet of elevation gained with most of it on dirt in late November is quite a surprise.. Sunday I rode Nice Kitty, which is a newer trail at Buffalo Creek, with Mike. Thanks to all of those who helped make the trail. It is well designed. It is mile .5 to about mile 4.6 in the link below. 2012 Niner Air 9 RDO.

Wednesday, July 2, 2014. A few weeks back I raced the Bailey Hundo. Which is a hundred mile mountain bike race to raise funds for Trips for Kids. The race starts off with about 60 miles of trails in the Buffalo Creek area and features a lot of riding on the Colorado Trail and finishes with stretches of pavement and forrest service roads. RMR teammates at the start line! I finished in 8:55:51 with only about 7 minutes of non moving time. Results here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Web Site Hit Count...
