After finishing sculpting duties on The Avengers. I jumped back into my illustration alter ego, Skulboy. Is combination of 2 of my passions, drawing and Disc Golf. May 6, 2012. Avengers Sets part 1. If there ever was such a thing as a dream job, it would be a lifelong Marvel comic book fan getting to work on The Avengers live action film. Well, that's me. I was one of a crew of sculptors sent to Albuquerque, NM to be part of set construction. First bit of business was making polystyrene parts to be molded and cast (parts in above photo were only used in one spot so these were the final pieces) for use on the Helicarrier bridge. The Helicarrier, how cool is that?

November 9, 2013. In 2012, I was a member of the sculpting team that worked for set construction on Ender's Game. After the Lead Sculptor and the Art Dept established the language of the Formic architecture, the rest of the sculptors ran with it. The look was a combination of organic bone shapes and stretched taffy. Despite very tight deadlines, we got to create some really cool foam work and the rest of the trades brought it all together for some amazing looking sets. Plaster and paint came next.

This was my first attempt at a figure maquette. I was in between jobs as a Sculptor for set construction and Akiko had got me a couple of the John Brown sculpting DVDs for Christmas. For all new updates, please head over to my new website. Thanks! Vartan is the main character in Fugitive Studios upcoming film East of Byzantium. Vartan is 12" tall sculpted in Pro-Clay and is still a Work In Progress. This maquette is based on an illustration by Jim Starlin of Marvel's Warlock.
