Shows 2014 and 2015. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Friday, January 23, 2015. And this is how the finished quilt looks like:. On purpose I kept the quilting simple, wavy lines for the leaf, straight lines for the veins and circular quilting for the holes. Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Friday, January 16, 2015. This year I am participating in Elizabeth Barton's Masterclass. The first assignment was about grey scale. I decided to work with a leaf. From the original picture it evolved like this:. The colors us...

Dimity's Fiber Adventures. Just another WordPress.com weblog. December 22, 2015. Last year I made a couple of prayer flags, showed them to some friends, took some pictures, posted them on this blog, and haven’t seen them since. Sometimes things like this happen in life. I sewed out an eagle design on my hand dyed blue fabric for sky:. A feather on white fabric for air:. A fireman’s badge (my Dad was a fireman) on red fabric for fire:. A fish on green fabric for water:. December 10, 2015. Lots has happene...

Dimity's Fiber Adventures. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive for May, 2015. May 31, 2015. This week was spent exploring different methods of making a wonky 9 patch square. Now you’d think this would be easy, but I had a heck of a time trying to be a wonky piecer. I started by making a traditional 9 patch a little larger than wanted, then placed a square ruler at angles on top of the square, trimmed around the ruler, and voila:. Again the fabrics were shuffled, and sewn together:. Then I made the...

Dimity's Fiber Adventures. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive for June, 2015. More Wonky 9 Patch. June 4, 2015. Following up on my last post, I sewed the strips together from the wonky 9 patch I thought I ruined:. Much to my surprise, I actually like these two blocks. Cutting those blocks into 6 narrow strips was a mistake, but a mistake that resulted in yet another look. Posted in Art Quilts. Bead Journal Project (2). Take It Further Challenge (18). Dimity's Fiber Adventures. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive for January, 2015. January 17, 2015. I’m still home, but dreaming about going on vacation, so thought I’d try my hand at making some prayer flags in the Tibetan manner to help nudge me on my way. The second design was done this past week when I got home from the hospital:. I much prefer the bottom of the piece. I like how some of the background fabric shows through, and I like how it looks a bit like paint flaking off an old fresco.

Shows 2014 and 2015. Friday, May 29, 2015. For Sky is the Limit. The April theme was Opposites and yes I know April has long gone :-). And I admit the theme sounded easy, but it took a long time before I had found a design which I liked. This is the one I settled on:.
