skyfireblaze: A Successful Start To 2012

http://skyfireblaze.blogspot.com/2012/03/successful-start-to-2012.html

Saturday, March 10, 2012. A Successful Start To 2012. Better late than never, right? I've been fishing my Tiger Eye 6'6" 4pc 2wt almost exclusively for the past year. However, today I decided to take out my DC Signature V 8'6" 4pc 3wt. My 3wt line is sitting on my Galvan OB-4, which is just a bit too heavy for this rod. I really like the reel so I don't mind using it. The second fish I caught took another dry/emerger fly with an almost imperceptible take. Somehow I saw the fish move up and take the f...

skyfireblaze: May 2009

http://skyfireblaze.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 23, 2009. This grip has some burl cork in it. I like the color the burl cork adds to the grip as well as the patterning it brings. I'll definitely use burl cork again in future grips. I made my first grip last week while sitting at the kitchen table. You may notice from these pictures that I moved outside to sand this this grip down. For some reason I just didn't feel like having to clean up all the cork dust from the kitchen again. Sunday, May 17, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I live i...

skyfireblaze: July 2009

http://skyfireblaze.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 11, 2009. Flying on the Blacksmith Fork. The main reason I was frantically working to get my new rod finished up was so that I could take it out fishing while we were up in Utah for the 4th of July. In addition to all the Independence Day celebrations, Mike and I had planned to meet up and go fishing on Monday, mostly on the Blacksmith Fork Creek. Just what I'd need, another expensive hobby .). Friday, July 3, 2009. Five Rivers Signature V 8'6" 3wt. Here are the rod details:. This OB-4 ree...

skyfireblaze: October 2011

http://skyfireblaze.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 24, 2011. I spent a few hours at the vise tying up some emerger/cripple caddis flies. These flies are brown/tan variants of the pattern found at Charlie's Fly Box. I've been working on getting the hang of tying parachute style flies, and I'm not quite there yet, but I really, really like the way parachute's fish. When I found this caddis pattern, I knew I needed to tie some up and try them out. Anyways, here are the pictures . Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Saturday, August 24, 2013. First Day of School 2013. Summer sure slipped by quickly this year. For the first time ever, I truly enjoyed having everyone at home and not having a strict schedule. Sunflower Six: February 2014

http://sunflowerfive.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 3, 2014. Gilbert Arizona Temple Open House. Braden was mostly interested in the sticks. I read somewhere that if you let your children touch the temple, the temple will touch them. I have faith in that statement. I also have faith that if we give our children as many opportunities to go to the temple, that they will begin to desire it in their hearts. The feeling of peace and love that comes when even being on the temple grounds is really indescribable. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). While ...

Friday, May 31, 2013. Braden successfully finished his kindergarten year! He loved every minute of it and it went by so fast. I think he is the most field tripped out kid ever. His teacher made sure they went on one every month. That is enough to wear out any mother! Build your own ice cream sundae was a hit! Braden's buddy Parker. We love Parker! Jon surprised Braden.I love the look on Braden's face! Thursday, May 23, 2013. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Our Gluten Free Blog. My last 6'6" 4pc 2wt Tiger Eye.

Sunflower Six: December 2013

http://sunflowerfive.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 30, 2013. Christmas.in Black and White. Tradition of new pj's continues. And was she ever ready to put those new pj's on! The kids decided that Christmas morning needed to start at 5:30 am.so we obliged. One of my most favorite traditions is having the kids draw a family name and shop for that person. Sydney wanted Monster High dolls more than ever, so that is what Braden got for her! Jaycee loved everything Frozen, so Morgan got her a doll and coloring book. Sydney made that happen.

Friday, December 28, 2012. Christmas At Our House. A new activity we did for the holidays this year was have a Grinch night. Jon made up some green eggs and pancakes served with bacon and a green Grinch drink. We read the story and watched the movie as a family. I have to thank my sister Cozette for the great idea. The opening of the Christmas Eve pj's! I love that Sydney and Jaycee are telling a secret, Morgan is like ". Wait, what are you saying? Oh the simple joys to a child. I think Santa pulled it o...

Sunflower Six: June 2013

http://sunflowerfive.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 30, 2013. Well, this time it was my child to break their arm. Never ever would have thought it was JJ to do it first. I decided that I was not going to pay the extra $20 and we would go to Walmart and find one. Sure enough, we did find one Jay liked! I put her on it and let go so she could pedal and make sure it was a good fit. Well, the bike tipped over on her and left her with a fracture to the elbow. So instead of saving $20, I spent over $700 on a broken arm! Friday, June 28, 2013. There...

Friday, May 30, 2014. Braden and his dad have been super busy with building Space rockets, pine wood derby cars and boats for the rain gutter regatta. Patiently waiting for the derby to start. Sunflower Six: July 2013

Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Jon had the opportunity to go to Philmont Scout Ranch this summer. It was a year long wait and a lot of preparation and sacrifice on his family's part. I'm glad he got to go and I think he really had a great time. I'm not sure I would want to smell my arm pits after two weeks of no showers! Family Pictures.Sort Of. Bless Sydney's heart, she always makes things memorable! The only picture where everyone is mostly descent and she pulls 'that' face! Thursday, July 25, 2013. Grandma...

Friday, March 28, 2014. Yepanother year has pasted us by and we are getting older. This little man celebrated his 7th birthday. He wanted to take dirt worms to his school class, which I love because it is such an easy treat! I love how many different expressions are captured in this series of pictures. Who doesn't love a little money, huh? His dinner request was toad in a hole (eggs and sausage really), with what looks like a little Skylander on the side! He really wanted to light his own candles.
