A Thousand Words: February 2015
http://pslittleworld.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A little biography of books, boys and God's graces in my life. Thursday, February 26, 2015. The sun is struggling through the grey skies this morning. Our February has been unseasonably warm and bright. I am thankful for the sunshine, always. While I don't at all feel that my heart and hands are out of practice (I may be surprised yet) our home has slowly morphed into the home of pre-teen and teenage boys. We still have work to do around here, but it's coming along. The house has been quiet but I hear st...

Last week, we took my son (my daughter stayed home with her grandparents) to a movie at a regular movie theater. The movie, by the way, was The Muppets. Our only past experiences going to the movies have been at The Kennedy School. Where you can watch a movie while sitting in a comfy couch and eating pizza or tater (tator? A few months ago.*. A Thousand Words: Boys' Noise School 2009-2010
http://pslittleworld.blogspot.com/p/boys-noise-school-2009-2010.html
A little biography of books, boys and God's graces in my life. Boys' Noise School 2009-2010. Nathan is a hands-on active little boy who wasn't the least bit interested in school last year. He'd rather be out climbing trees or playing with his stuffed animals, so I let him. After all, what use is preschool to a child who would like the world to be their teacher? I find that Nate does well working in short spurts and thrives off quality rather than quantity work. Classical Conversations Cycle 1. Linguistic...

Which is probably the most well-known and has always struck me as a bit staged) on the internet and I’m given a reason to reflect on the choice my family has made over the past five years to have a parent (me) stay home with our young kids instead of returning to teaching, my (used-to-be) job. A Thousand Words: Our Homeschool Journey
http://pslittleworld.blogspot.com/p/our-homeschool-journey.html
A little biography of books, boys and God's graces in my life. M not sure when or why I started thinking about home schooling my boys. Maybe it was the sweet teenage girl I met when my oldest was just a baby. Something about her was so genuine and interested. She conversed easily and looked me in the eye.she was home schoooled. I took note. Should I be "relieved" of the duty of teaching my boys about book work, character, mannerisms, social life? Why should I turn over this work to someone else? Now my y...

A Thousand Words: Fairy Seeds

A little biography of books, boys and God's graces in my life. Sunday, November 27, 2011. Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex.it takes a touch of genius- and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. Back to the river for another peek at those fairy seed pods we found yesterday. Showy Milkweed, to be exact! I believe these are seed pods from an Acacia tree. Anyone know? Really, aren't they dreamy? Who dares to teach must never cease to learn. -John Cotton Dana. LEGO hea...
