From Sri Lanka to Drummond. Friday, 8 January 2016. Just two more sleeps until I leave! I've done my packing. Lots of t-shirts and light clothes, as it will be hot, and a poncho for the rain! I'm also taking some books and things for the school where I'll be working. I must also remember. People in Sri Lanka use Rupees, not Pounds. I have decided to take some money in Dollars, which will be easy to change into Rupees when I arrive. Thanks for your comment. Ill answer as soon as I can. My first full day.

From Sri Lanka to Drummond. Wednesday, 13 January 2016. My first full day. Today I went to the school where I will work. I will start there properly on Monday. It is quite a big school, with 53 teachers. I will try to get photos some time soon. In some parts of Sri Lanka, fishermen sit on a pole stuck into the sea-bed and fish from there. From Sri Lanka to Drummond. Tuesday, 19 January 2016. I bought some mango jam today! I am working part time in a school. School starts early at 7:30 and finishes at 1:30. Everyone eats a big curry and rice meal, which they call lunch, about 10:30 at break. They bring it to school with them wrapped up in a plastic package with newspaper. I also visited a Buddhist temple. 21 January 2016 at 01:57. Hi there - gary would like to know if the ice cream vans and bread vans have motorbike engines too.

From Sri Lanka to Drummond. Thursday, 14 January 2016. Today I saw a big monitor lizard. When I got too close, it puffed up its chest and hissed at me. I did get some photos though. I also saw coconut palms and banana palms. I got a drink from a coconut: someone chops the top off with a big sharp knife and then you suck up the liquid inside with a straw.
