Mars Ultor: August 2008
http://marsultor.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
The God of Random. Saturday, August 30, 2008. Auld lang syne, Mr. von Schlegel's turn of phrase! Down to business it is. As I mentioned in my previous post, in Munich I bought an old German translation of Shakespeare's. Part 1 AND 2 (I noticed later that both were included). I was annoyed to find no mention of when the book was printed. Now I'm not very well-versed in these technicalities of poetic composition, but is the iambic pentametre with male or female cadence really so strikingly different from t...

The Yarn-Loving Couple: My top 3 most worn projects
http://theyarnlovingcouple.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-top-3-most-worn-projects.html
Friday, February 25, 2011. My top 3 most worn projects. These I made for Amoena about two years ago after she had lost her previous ones. I think these were my first mittens, and also the first time I made cables. Basically Amoena's been wearing either these ever since. And you can quite well see it from the mittens' condition. Only one of the socks was willing to come out of their hide. This one was quite a bit harder. It was either these, the Horcrux Socks. Finnish summary: En ole hetkeen saanut projek...

Mars Ultor: August 2009
http://marsultor.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
The God of Random. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. What's happening in Elina's world. I visited Amoena last week, as she already announced in her blog. I wanted to finally meet her new boyfriend J.R. (not so new anymore) and her new puppy, Papu. I can still see her soulful eyes and ears in my mind. But I'll have to be careful when choosing my own, as Amoena demonstrated to me that not all miniature pinschers are as pretty as Papu. Yesterday I finally met Deniselle. It's a fun story how I "found" her. Tv you'...

Mars Ultor: October 2008
http://marsultor.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
The God of Random. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. I'm incredibly tired right now. Incredibly, because I slept quite well. The first thing in the morning, however, I went to the Linna library reading room and read for two hours. It was so dark in there that I could barely stay awake. I don't remember anything from what I read, except I noticed some Canadianisms in the text. Always good to have ideas for possible new research projects. So I got tagged by Amoena. 4 Let them know they have been tagged by leavi...

Mars Ultor: February 2009
http://marsultor.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
The God of Random. Friday, February 27, 2009. Limb of the matter. There's something strangely blissful about living in a limbo. I consider sentences of one sort or another. None seem of any consequence. I look outside. Snowflakes twirling down from the sky. Should matter. But doesn't. A happy smile. Laughter. Should matter. I laugh and then stop. It won't lead anywhere. Manual labour. Corporeal punishment. Satisfying. Matters as long as it steals time from me. Bless this blissful state. I always thought,...

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. It's been embarrassing long since my last post and I've finished many projects since then. Pattern: Knitted jumper with short raglan sleeves and Norwegian pattern. Needles: 3.0mm (US 2½) and 2.5mm (US 1½). Yarn: Garnstudio DROPS Alpaca. Name: Happy 60th Anniversary, Grandma! So th...

The Yarn-Loving Couple: The real pullover of eternity
http://theyarnlovingcouple.blogspot.com/2011/07/real-pullover-of-eternity.html
Tuesday, July 5, 2011. The real pullover of eternity. Name: Herregenser til meg. Needles: 2.5mm, 3mm. Yarn: Garnstudio Drops Alpaca. Niila wanted to get to the picture too. Even though I used thin-ish yarn and small-ish needles, it wasn't really a 6 month long project. I just lost my interest in it sometime in February or March. I then started to knit the cardigan for my mom, and in the end I finished them about at the same time. Posted by J.R. Niila sure looks like she wants to be in the picture :D.

The Yarn-Loving Couple: October 2010
http://theyarnlovingcouple.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 22, 2010. It's been getting colder and colder, and last week when it got close to zero degrees and Niila started shivering we decided that she really needs a sweater. Since Niila's still very small, I doubted that any pattern would fit so I decided to just knit and watch some directions from patterns if I run into problems. Name: Niila's first sweater. Needles: 3.5mm double pointed needles. Yarns: Novita 7 Veljestä in light grey and DROPS Alpaca in grey-green mix (7323). Posted by J.R.
