It’s a Sham | Adventures in Woodworking
https://adventuresinwoodworking.wordpress.com/2011/11/14/its-a-sham
It’s a Sham. November 14, 2011 in Roubo-Moxon. Still waiting on my oil to entirely dry. Meanwhile, I thought I would fix something that I knew would bug me all the time. My big honkin’ wooden vise jaw is too massive for the few inches of threading in the big wooden nut in the leg vise, and as a result the big wooden screw tilts downwards towards the jaw. See look: here in the very back of the leg you can see the nut:. 8221; She gets it, folks! Follow Me on Twitter. On Sketch of Bench. Beer n' Lathing.

The Tool Fund | Adventures in Woodworking
https://adventuresinwoodworking.wordpress.com/toolfund
Tool Fund balance as of May 17 2010: zero. I receive no regular salary, so tool purchases are few and far between. I figure, why not beg? So I’ve set up the Neanderthal Apprentice Tool Fund. If you like the content and direction of Adventures in Woodworking, or just think I’m a super guy, why not just click the ‘Donate’ icon below and chip in a dollar or two? All money donated toward the Tool Fund will go directly towards the purchase of high-quality (and usually low-priced) hand tools. On Sketch of Bench.

A Craftsman’s Notes. These quotes have been posted and are also open for discussion in the main blog section. I personally agree with such statements, and for me a source of inspiration. For those craftsmen seeking perfection (as am I) perhaps we should take note of Ruskin, Morris and Fornasetti. Three exempt designers and artists excusing the imperfection of the hand. The Reject Roubo | Adventures in Woodworking
https://adventuresinwoodworking.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/the-reject-roubo
November 16, 2011 in Projects. I’m happy to announce the completion of my workbench! I call it the “Reject Roubo” as it was constructed almost entirely out of reject lumber that was given to me by a church friend whose husband runs a timber export business. I bought the big wooden screw for the leg vise ($10), and the glue, and that’s pretty much it. This workbench was a LOOOOOONG time in coming. Seriously. Looking back on my blog, here are some real quick highlights:. I request a kick in the pants.

Social Disease | A Woodies Passion

A Craftsman’s Notes. Beauty For Beauty’s Sake? November 1, 2008. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned an essay I was writing on Ruskin and Morris in relation to Industry, Mass-production and it implications on the craftsmen. Well after a few emails I’ve decided to throw up some sections of it. Enjoy. The Social Disease – tyranny over the worker:. Workers became so consumed with a single monotonous task that it is said to have consequently resulted in so little. 8220;intelligence… left in a man. Hence the so...
