Although I was only there for ten days, we managed to see a fair bit of the country including the not-to-be-missed city of Kyoto, and took in the sights of Osaka for a day to get a feel for modern urban life in Japan. Back in Canada and the end of my trip is in sight. I spent a few days in Vancouver (and liked it enough that I'm living here now), another few on Vancouver Island, in Victoria and Courtenay, then took a bus overland to Calgary, stopping for a couple of days in Banff. From Calgary I flew back to Toronto ending my round the world trip. Banff really is spectacular. Almost as spectacular as Cape Town. The town is at middle-left. The world famous Banff Springs Hotel is at bottom-center. Give me some feedback.

The Great Vancouver to Toronto Motorcycle Roadtrip—via Texas. From mid-April through mid-May, 2003, I rode my motorcycle from Vancouver to Toronto, where I stayed for the summer with my siblings. Normally it takes less than a week to drive that distance, but Canadian weather (east of the Rocky Mountains) is not friendly towards motorcyclists in mid-spring, so the best solution I could think of was to make a big loop via the southern U.S. That I kept while I was on the road.
