Gonorrhea (‘The Clap’) Microbe. On: February 21, 2010. A few months ago, I created a crocheted version of the Herpes microbe based on Drew Oliver’s Giant Microbes. Plush toys for a good friend of mine. She loved it. There’s something creepy and yet rather cute about giving your friends an STD. On: February 11, 2010. This is a hat which I have just finished making for a good friend. Her 2 year old son has been going through some stressful health issues lately and I wanted to cheer them both up.🙂. Both mother and son are fans of the TV show Yo Gabba Gabba, so I decided to model the beanie on the looks of Brobee, a small, green and furry character on the show. I must confess this one gave me a bit of a fright, I totally take plastic for granted these days, EVERYTHING comes in plastic (well it feels like it anyway). I had obviously heard about BPA (I’m a parent, difficult not to hear) and I’ll confess I half-heartedly look for the BPA-free signage on baby bottles etc but I would definitely not think to look for it on anything for myself.
