Happy, smiley and chronically ill

Saturday, 7 July 2012. Apologies for the lack of contact recently, life has just been crazy busy, but mostly in a good way. Back in October I decided to try getting back in a boat. I won't lie it was very hard at first, but absolutely wonderful to be back. Some adjustments had to be made in that I'm now an adaptive rower, arms and shoulder category. Two weekends ago, I did my first race as an adaptive rower. I was the only entrant so it was a bit difficult to judge my performance. Friday, 8 June 2012.

Happy, smiley and chronically ill: June 2012

http://www.slightlywonky.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Friday, 8 June 2012. Lovely imagery from the title I know, but I know it's something a few of my friends have come across as well. I'm not being ungrateful, but I just don't get it. People tell me I'm inspiring, brave, wonderful etc. which is lovely to hear, but I don't think I do anything to justify these words. I'm just living my life to the best of my ability. Isn't that what most of us are trying to do, or are meant to do? I do work hard to have the life I do, hence the notion of perspiration!

Happy, smiley and chronically ill: May 2012

http://www.slightlywonky.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Wednesday, 23 May 2012. Whilst I've been in hospital I've seen quite a lot of TV, and some of it has made me think a lot about normality, and my life. I was watching House, and Cameron said "It's normal to want to be normal", which House disagreed with, I can't remember what he said exactly, because my mind had wandered off, thinking of what this meant to me. I also know what I want to do with my life, something I certainly didn't know when I was much younger. Finally whilst watching Great Ormond Street ...

Happy, smiley and chronically ill: Here we go again

http://www.slightlywonky.blogspot.com/2012/04/here-we-go-again.html

Saturday, 28 April 2012. Here we go again. So, here I am, back in hospital, on a ward where the nurses know you so well, that the banter starts from where it was left off. It's better this way, other wards don't always understand the complexities of someone like me. Here they have the equipment I need, the knowledge, and the doctors are based here. The obvious question is, why am I here? I didn't realise until Friday night when I was being transferred to the gastro ward. Must ring CDU and see if they...

My Multiple Sclerosis and I. Multiple Sclerosis is difficult to live with for both the sufferer and all the people this person loves, knows and will meet in future. MS also has its moments! To the others: DO NOT treat sufferers differently once they have been diagnosed. This site contains my personal observations, and does not offer legal or medical advice of any kind. Once re...

Slightly Worn Around the Edges | Random musings on things of interest and other general bits of nonsense

Slightly Worn Around the Edges. Random musings on things of interest and other general bits of nonsense. May 21, 2011. After a long run I’m putting. Slightly Worn Around the Edges. On hiatus. I’ll probably post occasionally but it will be sporadic at best. I’m trying out a new experiment over at Tumblr ( More Internet Clutter.
