A Devonshire Pottery

Tales of the goings on at Hollyford Pottery, near the tiny village of Stockleigh English in Devon, England. Friday, 1 May 2015. Well it's nearly upon us! It seemed like our wedding day wasn't for ages and before we knew it, it's suddenly a day away. We've been working so hard, trying to get everything finished so that we can take a few days off. On top of an already heavy workload, we decided we would make all the champagne flutes. We stood in the garden tonight and watched the sunset. Away on the distan...

A Devonshire Pottery: March 2015

http://slipware.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Tales of the goings on at Hollyford Pottery, near the tiny village of Stockleigh English in Devon, England. Monday, 30 March 2015. Here are some pictures of my amazing wife-to-be, decorating a big jug that I made. We're going to make a few collaborative pots together and they'll be used for the flowers in the church on our wedding day. There's a little film at the end too. Sunday, 29 March 2015. Well it's been a tough few weeks. We seem to be dogged by bad luck at the moment. A freshly slipped 7lb jug.

Tales of the goings on at Hollyford Pottery, near the tiny village of Stockleigh English in Devon, England. Tuesday, 30 September 2014. Since last I blogged. Well since last I blogged, lots has been happened, so it's time I got round to writing about it! I didn't take any pictures, apart from this. I was at college with these guys over thirty years ago and we were all reunited for the first time at the Festival. It was great to see them all and no doubt we shall all meet again. Friday, 12 September 2014.

A Devonshire Pottery: wedding jug number 2

http://slipware.blogspot.com/2015/04/wedding-jug-number-2.html

Tales of the goings on at Hollyford Pottery, near the tiny village of Stockleigh English in Devon, England. Friday, 10 April 2015. Wedding jug number 2. We're settling back in to work in our Scotland workshop. It's been glorious weather, hence the pots drying in the sunshine. These pots are the order that I've made three times, the last two batches failed due to a glaze flaw, which we think we may well have resolved, so we have our fingers crossed. Hannah made the jug and I decorated it.

Sunday, August 1, 2010. Studio is a comin'! So much stuff going on besides makin' pots. Still trying to get the studio together, (pictures of the garage half to come soon),. The first picture is of a shelf i just hung (wow) and a window at the bottom of the half flight of stairs down to the basement that i'm planning on cutting out to make into a doorway for quick access out to the garage. Also big huge thanks to the pottery boys. Thanks Glenn and Keith! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Tuesday, March 18, 2014. Three days till Spring. Do you think Mother Nature has the date on her calendar? Anna M. Branner. Friday, March 14, 2014. In Like a Lion! Lots of distractions still going on here in Fredericksburg. But the sewer line is fixed. (We hope.) The city rescheduled FOUR times. So I loaded a bisque this week. I absolutely love my hollow core shelves. SO much lighter and easier to load then the solid ones. You will notice I don't do a lot of stacking. I don't like to put too much pres...

The Dog Blog: June 2010

http://runningdogpottery.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 17, 2010. Made some small bowls. Made some small bowls yesterday, a fourth of what i need. Feels good though as it's the first time i've really gotten back to making pots since we've moved into our new house. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Sent me a reply. He stated that he had in his kiln yard, the old studio kiln built by Delores Fortuna, that he always hoped to put back in use but had just recently come to terms with it being one of those things he might never get to. Luckily no one was stung.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. A Post without a Picture? It seems to me wrong to post without a picture,. But i had a weird occurrence the other day, (for the second time) that i couldn't figure out, and couldn't chalk up to some freak occurrence again. Keep in mind that this is the second time this has happened:. Experienced, and can. This i can understand. I have no idea how this could happen, all the clay is store in my classroom, so it's not coming from outside. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
