Thursday, December 4, 2008. I upgraded the RAM from 256K to 512K ($22), the max for this machine. I tried out a new skin for the RoadRunner front end, DigitalFX 4.0. This one is fairly easily configurable right from the skin, so I'll probably stick with it for a while. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. Since I want plenty of storage for MP3s and such, I will use a hard drive. I considered a USB external drive, but instead replaced the flash drive with a 60GB Seagate notebook drive ($39).

Wednesday, November 26, 2008. I've done some poking around and decided to take a stab at putting together a carputer for my Mercedes SLK. I'd like to get MP3, radio, navigation, and maybe Bluetooth phone and video integrated. You can certainly spend a lot of money on this, but my initial attempt at least will be minimal cost. Use a neat utility WinSetupFromUSB to transfer the XP installation CD to the USB flash. Doing that finally allowed me to install XP from the USB Flash. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
