Offshore oil and gas operations. A new Gulf of Mexico Eddy/Loop current model was developed for the SLOOP-2 Joint Industry Project. The eddy current data was obtained from the output of the Climatology and Simulation of Eddies (CASE) project which produced the Gulf Eddy Model (GEM). The files from GEM contained the resulting current at the target latitude/longitude for 16 different depths. The following summarises the assumptions, and the way in which the data was processed for the SLOOP-2 simulations.
