At Sloughbottom Pastures we are passionate about raising pasture-based meat and eggs. We holistically manage cattle and chickens in a way that focuses on animal health, meat and egg quality, and soil restoration. Planned grazing improves soil and grass biodiversity and makes our ranch self-sustainable rather than relying on commercial fertilizers and weed control. We use horses and people on foot to move our animals as much as possible, reducing the amount we use vehicles around the animals.

Sloughbottom Pastures provides custom winter feeding services for your cows or cow/calf pairs at competitive rates. Utilizing local feed sources and staying flexible with feed options keeps our feed costs down. Our past customers are our best advertising. References are available! We like to say we are Raising Kids and Cows on Fresh Air and Sunshine! Read on to see what this means to us. The cattle have free access to fresh, cool, and clean water through alleyways we have made in the fencing system. We practise low-stress livestock handling, which uses body positioning and patience to work with the cattle. We pick eggs a couple of times a day, to ensure the eggs stay clean.
