Mind Musings: Bettering your craft...
http://rustednuts.blogspot.com/2009/10/bettering-your-craft.html
The musings of an aspiring writer and his journey from the cold clime of Connecticut down to the warmth and weirdness of Texas. Sunday, October 4, 2009. This year at Armadillo Con 31, I had the honor of meeting and chatting with James Frenkel. He looked at me and asked if I was still writing short stories. I said of course. He encouraged me to writing short stories. I thanked him for his advice and let other slavering individuals garner his attention. What helped me most of all was getting involved in cr...

Abby Goldsmith: July 2012
http://abbybabble.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Jul 25, 2012. Awful Air France Ordeal. When we travel these days, we all expect long lines, underpaid airport staff who don't care about helping travelers, delayed flights, and hassles. That has become normal (and I found a good article about why that is. Air France flight 688 was scheduled to depart Paris CDG. At 1:30pm, and arrive in Atlanta around 5:30pm. What happened? We departed Paris at 2:45pm, diverted to Washington D.C. for no apparent reason, and arrived in Atlanta at 3:30am the next day. So I ...

Writing and So On: October 2013
http://writingandsoon.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Writing and So On. Saturday, October 5, 2013. October is here, which for me means that NaNoWriMo is looming on the horizon. Over the past seven years, I've approached my effort in a variety of ways - from complete seat-of-the-pants to moderately well-outlined. Two years ago, I went in with nothing more than a title (The Milkshake of Destiny) and a half-baked notion as to what it might be about.all chosen as I sat down on November 1 to start writing. Writing and So On. Friday, November 15, 2013. My first officially published story, Measure of Fate, is now available. I'm honored to be a part of Fictionvale Episode 1. This may be my first rodeo, but I have a hunch I've been spoiled by the quality and professionalism of the folks behind Fictionvale. It has been a great experience end to end. So, it's out in the wild. I encourage you to check it out. Episode 1 was open to all genres, so there's something for everyone. You can find it at Amazon.

Collaboration 1, part 7. 8220;I need to get into a safe deposit box,” she said, unable to shake the nerves of anticipation. 8220;Right over there,” the woman said, pointing to a desk at the end of the row of tellers. “Marcie can help you out.”. 8220;Thanks,” Vega said, giving the woman one last lingering look before crossing the room. Abby Goldsmith: June 2013
http://abbybabble.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Jun 17, 2013. As I head towards completion on the penultimate book in my Torth series. I'm wondering what note to end it on. Crowd-sourcing the ending of a novel is a bad idea- especially since most of the crowd hasn't read my novels- but I figured I'd ask your opinion, just to entertain myself. How should this book end? Please note, the real question is where should I split the story between Books 5 and 6, since this series is actually one gigantic, epic story. And if you want to see how complicated the...
