blaugustine: October 2010
http://blaugustine.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 17, 2010. 1 At Costco, buy a supersized jar of organic strawberry jam. 2 At home, open the jar and pour it into half-pint jelly jars. 3 Affix a cute sticker (it could say. 4 For full effect, tie a sweet ribbon around the jar. 5 Give as gifts. The jam really is that good, probably better then what I occasionally make. But no, nuh-uh, I've never tried this trick on my friends. Friday, October 01, 2010. As I write these words, I think of another friend who was recently shoved out of her job&...

Wednesday, 30 June 2010. Falling Into a Depression. I feel so depressed. Why today more than any other day? Yesterday, I spent 5 hours cleaning the house to show to last-minute viewers. They came, they saw, they complimented. Today, they said the house is not for them. Oh despair! Will no one rescue me from this purgatory? That's not the only reason. There are others. I got the terms and conditions of employment for my new job. Fantastic? And I'm bone tired. Too many late nights and early mornings. Somet...

8230;and other things. January 1, 2011 by Polli. Hello, gentle reader, and a Happy New Year to you! You might not recognize me, but I used blog here. Since my father and my mother-in-law still check for a new post every few days (yes, since August, they are that dedicated, my friends) and I have no excuse for not blogging, having finally graduated, I thought I would try something to get me back to writing regularly. Something like taking a photo a day. Dog water, bitten by January. And I certainly didn&#...

blaugustine: September 2009
http://blaugustine.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Ever have one of those days when all day long it feels like you're slogging through molasses, up hill both ways, and never quite getting where you're trying to go? I usually swim on Tuesday mornings. Sometimes I dawdle a little at home. This morning, I was in my car exactly at the time I had hoped to be. When I turned the key, the car just made sad little noises. Oh sigh. The ride to work was filled with delays and many many construction projects. There was even a project...

blaugustine: April 2009
http://blaugustine.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 24, 2009. Today was a nice antidote to a weird week. In addition to the incredible tragedy that I wrote about yesterday, we attended a play on Tuesday night that was disturbing and brutal. It was a premiere called. Staged at the oh-so-intellectual and oh-so-avant-garde and oh-I'm-so-over-it ART (something something Theater). Itself a purely tragic play from all I've heard. Then yesterday, I wangled a doctor's appointment at lunch time to start understanding something that might be minor (wo...

blaugustine: Thanksgiving plans
http://blaugustine.blogspot.com/2010/11/thanksgiving-plans.html
Tuesday, November 23, 2010. My dear sweet aunt wrote to me weeks ago when, admittedly, we had no plans for Thanksgiving, to invite us to join the festivities in Manhattan. I wrote back and said that we were unable to attend and expressed the hope that we would all have joyous Thanksgivings. Quietly, I thought that even if Robert and I ate Thanksgiving dinner by ourselves, we'd be content with the peace and quiet. Four local invitations later, we've had to start saying "thanks, but we can't attend.".

My terrene reality: narcissistic ramblings of my night life
http://terrenereality.blogspot.com/2006/01/narcissistic-ramblings-of-my-night.html
And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh. -Friedrich Nietzsche. Monday, January 23, 2006. Narcissistic ramblings of my night life. Since I was awake, I plodded on down here to the office to pull up the Air Tran web site to check on John's flight and make sure it was actually going to take off. Lo and behold, its departure time had moved way up, closer to the originally schedule...

My terrene reality: The Pause
http://terrenereality.blogspot.com/2011/10/pause.html
And we should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once. And we should call every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh. -Friedrich Nietzsche. Sunday, October 09, 2011. This post may make it WAY into the realm of TMI for more than a few. But it is what is is. It's what is going on in my life and it is what I want to write about. So any skittish or cowardly readers who don't want to think about or discuss THE PAUSE may exit now. Excuse me a moment, but. Well t...

Tuesday, 24 November 2009. She was lonely so she developed hobbies. Singing. Amateur dramatics. Sewing. Exercise. He did not ask about these nor share her interest in them. He counted his money and compliments instead. Saturday, 14 November 2009. The Spy Who Thought He Loved Me. I keep thinking I must write more. And then something happens to zap my creativity. Suffice it to say that my life is pretty turbulent at the moment. And full of intrigue. Who knew I was married to a wannabe spy?

blaugustine: September 2010
http://blaugustine.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 29, 2010. Yesterday, my antepenultimate day at work, I actually blew through (no, I did not "blow off") a large amount of work, with the hopes of leaving my colleagues in very good shape after I'm gone. I've mentioned to a few people that it is my goal to "go out on top," to leave them wanting more. I'd be mortified to think that for my last job especially, anyone would be thinking "couldn't she have gone sooner? I think I've succeeded in that goal. People have said they don't kn...
