Diary of a Smallholder: April 2014
http://www.smallholderjournal.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Diary of a Smallholder. A homestead life in our beautiful English countryside. Saturday, 26 April 2014. Today they are between 3 and 3.5 weeks old. After advice from Jenny we’ve increased their milk to on demand and at least 500ml per feed – thanks Jenny :). Lambs in their new shelter on wheels, out of the puddles! Try to find bigger bottles! Tuesday, 22 April 2014. Sunday, 20 April 2014. Thursday, 17 April 2014. Running with the Pack. 2 of them are 16 days old now but because of the younger ones at 12 d...

Diary of a Smallholder. A homestead life in our beautiful English countryside. Wednesday, 13 May 2015. Gloucester Old Spot Piglets. Today we collected this year’s piglets. They are around 10 weeks old, all from the same litter and a cross between Gloucester Old Spot, Oxford Sandy and Black and Middle White. Looking forward to raising them over summer and watching them grow. Always good therapy to sit with a beer at the end of the day and watch piglet antics as the sun goes down. Oxford Sandy and Black.

I was in the barn the other day and looked down to see the tiniest broken eggshell from the swallows’ nest above. They’ve built it on top of a nail – in fact where the birdcam used to hang, so no live pictures this year then! I’ll have to get out there with my camera as they grow…. Links to this post.
