Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: Kendall's Sixth Birthday!
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/06/kendalls-sixth-birthday.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Tuesday, June 7, 2011. One of my little buddies had a birthday this past Friday. Miss Kendall turned six! She had a great party on Friday night with a Tangled. Kendall was born on my Dad's 59th birthday, so he turned 65 this year. I congratulated him on officially becoming a senior citizen. :). Here are a few photos from Kendall's birthday party. Grandpa Ed decided to have a John Deere cake instead. I should have some more posts coming soon. We had a very busy weekend! I'm L...

Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: Maurey & Lori Werner
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/06/maurey-lori-werner.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Thursday, June 9, 2011. Maurey and Lori Werner. On Saturday June 4, something wonderful happened. Even if it was about 100 degrees (or at least felt like 100 degrees), it was a beautiful day for Maurey and Lori to get married. Our family has always been close with the Werners and I've known Lori since high school, so I knew we would have a great time at the wedding. It did not disappoint. Mr and Mrs. Werner. They might be one of the cutest couples ever. I'm Lacey. I have...

Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: Sled Riding
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/01/sled-riding.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Sunday, January 23, 2011. Just when we thought we were done with snow for a little while, we got some more. It snowed 4-5" last Thursday. (And yes, it is supposed to snow again. This week.) I always enjoy going sled riding with my little buddies and it is even better when we can go down their Grandma and Grandpa Buechler's driveway. They have the perfect place for sled riding. Those two are my best form of therapy! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: Waiting to Get Shelved
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/08/waiting-to-get-shelved.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Friday, August 5, 2011. Waiting to Get Shelved. Long time, no post. Sorry about that. We've just been a little busy with adoption meetings and the Strassenfest. I just wanted to fill everyone in on our last meeting. We went up to St. Elizabeth's on Wednesday, and we got a lot of information and homework. That is so exciting! We didn't realize we were almost to this point. We hope and pray that a birth mother will see the potential we have to become parents to their child.

Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: Camping & Biking
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/07/camping-biking.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Friday, July 8, 2011. Brady and I have been married now for four years and have been together for a total of eight. (Time really flies.) In these eight years I have avoided doing something that Brady really likes to do that I was not always fond of. That would be camping. In North Vernon, Indiana. Nick is involved with DINO. Bike racing. DINO stands for Do INdiana Off road. We had SO much fun! Nick hoarded the camera a bit, but I'm sure he got some good shots! The best momen...

Life's Tough But I'm Tougher: March Cuties
http://lifestoughbutimtougher.blogspot.com/2011/03/march-cuties.html
Life's Tough But I'm Tougher. Sunday, March 6, 2011. We have had a very busy weekend, and we feel like we've traveled all over the state. On Tuesday March 1, both my best friend and close cousin had baby boys! I knew I had to go and see them as soon as possible. Since we were helping with the cleanup from the tornado, we didn't get to go as soon as we would have liked. So this weekend, we went and saw them both. I hope to teach these two a lot over the years! Our weekend isn't over yet! We have a few thi...

pure_sophist_monster: November 2013

Friday, November 15, 2013. It recently struck me how critique often functions like an intellectual sausage grinder. It takes up. A mass of heterogenous materials, forces, and relations, squeezes. Them through one nozzle, and creates. Homogenous, discrete, and easily predicable packets. Now, I am a big fan of machines to think with, but a little adventure every now and then is necessary. Tuesday, November 12, 2013. On Having Been Had. I recently contributed a "Big Ideas" video over at Itineration. In whic...

pure_sophist_monster: On Having Been Had
http://pure-sophist-monster.blogspot.com/2013/11/on-having-been-had.html
Tuesday, November 12, 2013. On Having Been Had. I recently contributed a "Big Ideas" video over at Itineration. Here it is if you want to give it a watch. Skip it if you like. In brief, I attempted to articulate what is sometimes called the post-critical moment. For me, the way into this moment (or movement) is the work Bruno Latour, in particular his widely read and debated "Why Has Critique Run Out of Steam.". Now, there is lots to unpack there, but hopefully it suffices for now. AIME for short). I...

Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Rhetorical Theory/Bruno Latour Episode #3: The Strong Defense. With this episode, I continue with my provocations, attempting to assemble rhetorical theory and Bruno Latour in mutually beneficial ways. In this episode, I discuss what Bruno Latour adds to Richard Lanham's Strong Defense of rhetoric. I conclude that in addition to offering a strong defense of rhetoric, Latour offers an equally strange one as well. Thursday, June 7, 2012. Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Pure Sophist Monster i...
