Small Town Stitcher: June 2014

http://smalltownstitcher.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 23, 2014. Wow, time really does fly whether you want it to or not. Hello to everyone still hanging on and I see I've even gained a few new followers in my long absence. I never had any intention to stop blogging, but with surgery recovery became a new focus and blogging got less and less important. Then, of course, sewing did too, and with no progress, there's not much to blog about. :). And then I just got out of the habit of coming to this space to talk with you all. But I want to be busy ...

Small Town Stitcher: Winner!

http://smalltownstitcher.blogspot.com/2014/07/winner.html

Tuesday, July 1, 2014. After a busy and hot weekend watching softball, I'm back with a giveaway winner and an update of my latest projects. I let Random.org pick the winner for the Etsy gift card and it turned out to be Helen. Congrats to you, my friend, and I've sent you an email. As for what I'm up to this week.I've got all of Oren's star blocks done and ready to sash. I'm going with a 2.5" black sashing to spread the blocks out, and I haven't decided for sure on final layout. Honestly, at this point I...

Small Town Stitcher: August 2013

http://smalltownstitcher.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 30, 2013. Finish it Up Friday. I'm back today to show off my latest finish- The Julia Top. This is another pattern created by Jenny from Seamingly Smitten. The girl has an eye for fashion and for making patterns that are easy to follow at any skill level, that's for sure. Jenny asked if I could proof this pattern for her Women's line. It's a simple top with long or short sleeves, a blousy fit and easy style. Of course I said yes! I always say this, but Jenny's got a real gift for taking th...

Small Town Stitcher: November 2013

http://smalltownstitcher.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 18, 2013. SoEmma decided not to be left out last night and started puking. Yep, in the last week 3 of the 4 of us have spent some time hugging the toilet bowl. Needless to say, she and I had a quiet day today at home to make up for the LONG night we had last night running back and forth. But I did finish up a bee block for this month. Toni. Who awesomely organized our group That Stash Bee and volunteered to go last this year, asked us for Crown of Thorn blocks in this color way. At this ...

Craft Book Month: "Phoebe's Sweater" by Joanna Johnson. I was so excited and thankful when Lindsay invited me to join in another round of Craft Book Month with Craft Buds! But "Phoebe's Sweater" is not just a children's story, it is also a knitting book with patterns for a cozy hooded girl's coat, a stuffed mouse with dress, and a matching coat for the doll. I immediately grabbed my skein of Plucky Sweater in Dandy Lion and cast on! The illustrations in the story are just beautiful! The inside of the ear...

Between Quilts: October 2013

http://betweenquilts.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Wednesday, October 30, 2013. I am so late in posting my Circle 7 Bee updates, but I am really excited to share these quilts with you. Each quilt in this bee has been an absolute delight to work on and I feel so giddy as I make each one - like I'm working on a surprise for that particular person each month! That's not to say I don't stress about these quilts - trying to narrow down ideas and utilize designs that complement what the others in the group have contributed has been a fun challenge for me.
