The Baby Expert: September 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
September 7, 2014. Here to Pump You Up. Has it really been two months since I last checked in? I'd like to think it’s because I’ve been so busy working out. While blogging is a good form of finger exercise, I have been neglecting my other major muscles groups for some time now. Exercising and my physical health have been on the decline ever since leaving college. It took its biggest dip when I got hitched. No need to impress anyone anymore, right? Graders casually hiked by me was enough motivation for me...

The Baby Expert: February 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
February 12, 2014. I’ve always wondered what would happen if the wife were to leave for a few days and put me in charge of the toddler at home. Would the household descend into total chaos? Would I party all night? Would the baby turn on me? I can now answer all three of those questions with a definitive ‘no.’. Jobs were handed out and fingers were crossed. My mom was put in charge of cooking, my dad in charge of keeping Caitlyn entertained, and I everything else. However, bedtime actually turned out to ...

The Baby Expert: October 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
October 31, 2014. Oops, We Did It Again. After waiting for the green light from the wife and because I’ve just been too busy/lazy to write a post, I can finally announce that we do indeed have a bun baking in the oven! But on the flipside, we’re having a baby! Only time will tell. As of this moment, the sex of the baby is still a mystery. Ask me the first time, and I'll tell you that I'll be happy with a boy or a girl as long as it’s healthy. But prod me a bit further, and I’ll admit ...If I, whom the wi...

The Baby Expert: Safe and Sound
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2015/06/safe-and-sound.html
June 15, 2015. Little Hannah Piper is still alive and kicking! The surgery was a success. While the doctor was not able to widen her valve completely, he did enough to minimize her condition so that it really shouldn’t present much of a problem in the future. Just need check-ups every now and then to make sure it doesn’t start thickening again. And the cost of surgery and two nights stay in the hospital? 90 freaking U.S. dollars! The Baby Expert: April 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
April 29, 2014. This concerned the wife a bit, though by no means did it take her by surprise. It's not like this is the first time we've heard of such things from Caitlyn's teacher. Our child does lean more towards the shy, timid side. However, that doesn’t mean it’s OK to be taken advantage of or perhaps bullied, in the future. Did my act of kindness move his heart? The Baby Expert: May 2015
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
May 20, 2015. Me and My Buddy. It’s now been about a month since the wife gave birth to Hannah Piper and another two weeks before she’ll come home from the postpartum center. You’re probably thinking, “Lucky you! You'll have been a free man for over a month! 8221; Unfortunately, there is no freedom when there’s another kid impatiently waiting for you at home. The Baby Expert: April 2015

April 25, 2015. The Second Worst Pain to Childbirth. Weakly gumming and drooling on a nipple, say Chris’. It’s a disturbing mental image, but definitely not painful. Says the person who doesn't have to endure giving birth or breastfeeding. April 20, 2015. Hannah Piper Wu Makes Her Grand Entrance. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent! These words describe the death of Jesus, but they very well could describe the comin...

The Baby Expert: March 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
March 24, 2014. Every parent has hopes that their child can be gifted at something, whether it be playing a musical instrument, singing, drawing, or sports. We look at what their interests are and send them off to various extracurricular activities, hoping to find the next Mozart, or Picasso, or Michael Jordan in them. Caitlyn is just starting to develop a more lasting interest in drawing these days, and while her art pieces consist of squiggly lines, they are still pretty fine looking squiggly lines.

The Baby Expert: July 2014
http://thebabyexpert.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
July 4, 2014. Besties on the Weekends. Every morning, Caitlyn will call out either ‘Daddy’ or ‘Mommy’ to come get her from her bedroom. Which person she chooses depends on what day it is. If it’s a weekday, she’ll say, “Mommy.” If it’s the weekend, she’ll say, “Daddy.”. How she decided on this is beyond me. My theory has been that weekends equal fun. Therefore, Daddy must equal fun. That makes me feel pretty good. What weekdays equal and therefore what Mommy must equal, I leave up to you. Fun in the park.
