The Adventures of Captain Cant and Crew. Wednesday, 18 February 2009. SO after much "encouragement" and abuse. here it is! For the last year and a half I have been on a mission, saving all my pennies, working all sorts of crazy hours, living in peoples basements, sharing a room and bed with Jonboy. doing everything I can to get to this point! This point is where I have the cash and the time to buy a boat and go sailing. Now all i need is a boat and a crew! The last few months in a few sentences. Obviousl...

The Adventures of Captain Cant and Crew. Tuesday, 26 May 2009. RUM Cay - Mayaguana for Lizzies Bday. 2 tuna, 2 mahi-mahi and a couple of Wahu strikes. All dressed up as girls, bikinis, shelf butts and moustaches. Mint. Of course the night ended with blood! Ran out of fuel the next day. 50 gallons yeah right. luckily we had a load of fish to give away so managed to get that problem sorted out. We were greeted with a gearbox empty of oil, and very friendly English couple and a very cheap marina! We had a c...

The Adventures of Captain Cant & Crew: Nassau and Beyond
http://captaincant.blogspot.com/2009/04/nassau-and-beyond.html
The Adventures of Captain Cant and Crew. Sunday, 12 April 2009. Nassau was a crazy week. hello Penny, Anne and Herby, and goodbyes to PB and Anthony! We scored a great spot in a Marina that had a swimming pool and perks, so it felt like luxery living there for a week after a month on the boat. Anne and Herby rocked up with a whole heap of fishing stuff (thanks Guys! So the crew were chomping at the bit to get out to deep water! Disaster zone for boys that love to swim with sharks! Lost and Cant left Nass...

The Voyages of S/V Double Bruyn: March 2010
http://doublebruyn.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
The Voyages of S/V Double Bruyn. Thursday, March 4, 2010. Mindelo was a welcome port that catered perfectly for 4 boys after over a week at sea. The town is vibrant, people friendly, food good, sun hot and beer cold. Having heard mixed reports about the place we had little idea on what to expect, however were pleasantly surprised on all accounts. We tried to imagine the equivalent scenario in the developed world. Four black guys who haven’t washed in a month come off a boat into a small school ...Carryin...

The Voyages of S/V Double Bruyn: July 2008
http://doublebruyn.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
The Voyages of S/V Double Bruyn. Friday, July 25, 2008. Now for the fun stuff. A spontaneous suggestion from a work mate sparked the idea of bringing our sailing trip forward, and with keen approval from my bosses and cabin boys we set about making it happen. We plan to set sail on Thursday 31st and am hoping to get to Falmouth 11-14 days later. Then will head straight to Brighton and celebrate in the usual way. Right on, more to come before we sail /).
