Framework - SMARTSKINS

The SMARTSKINS framework is composed by the 3 main components:. Mobile Application for the patients. Back-end Server that hosts the image processing module and database. Web Interface for the dermatologists and system administrator. After a doctor validates a check-up using the SMARTSKINS Web Interface, the system sends a report to the patient’s mobile application. In this way, the patient can keep a record of the evolution of their skin moles, always under the supervision of a dermatology specialist.

The SMARTSKINS dataset has been developed for research and benchmarking purposes, in order to facilitate comparative studies of dermatological images. The dataset was acquired at the Skin Clinic of Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Porto (IPO Porto) after the approval of the IPO Ethics Committee. The dataset can be used for research and educational purposes, and it can be downloaded after filling the registration form below. All publications that make use of this dataset must cite the following paper:.
