A True Community Effort. The Need for Care. A True Community Effort. Originated in 2002 from an existing partnership between Louisville Water Company, Louisville Dental Society and UofL School of Dentistry. The group wanted to make an impact on the health of the community’s children. The funding for Smile Kentucky! Comes from its steering committee, sponsors and grants. In all over 600 volunteers make the program work - - from employees, dental students, local school systems, and dental supply companies.

Golf Scramble

Some of the children participating in Smile Kentucky! Treatment Day have extensive dental needs - more than can be addressed in one day. These children are invited to receive free follow-up care at UofL School of Dentistry. The Prospect Goshen Rotary funds the follow-up care with proceeds from their annual golf scramble. The Need for Care. A True Community Effort. Works with school districts to determine which schools will participate in the program for the school year. The program includes free dental education and screenings during a visit to the school, followed by free dental treatment for qualified children at a dental facility.
