Life: As I know it. My humble perspective from my little place in this world. Thursday, January 15, 2009. So, when I got in my car this afternoon, I glanced up at the temperature gauge on my rear view mirror and saw this . . . Now, I understand that there are other places in the country that were even colder today (like, SD which was -42! But I'm a California girl . . born and raised in the DESERT! I don't DO negative temps! And that was even BEFORE accounting for the wind chill factor! He finally did it!

Learning to love the sound of His call. I am Marielle Lorraine Kipps. I am in love. I am made of mud and ribs. I am a breath of Him. I am drenched in grace, drowning in chaos. I have struggled through 18 hard years. I have fought my way back to the surface. I have scars no one can see. I have scars that weren’t accidents. I am a solider, in no army of one. I am a peacemaker. I am a daughter. I am a speaker. I am a cougar. I am who I am. Nothing more, nothing less. I am not discarded merchandise. Fill in ...

Life: As I know it. My humble perspective from my little place in this world. Thursday, December 11, 2008. Love, Love, LOVE Him! ANYWAY . . . We went to KC for Thanksgiving and my in-laws thought it would be way fun to get their grandsons (3 of them - a set 2 yr old twins, and our 1 yr old cutie) full-on suits that they can wear for Christmas, and then they wanted them to get their pics taken together. So, they took us to Janie and Jacks and we walked out with this . . . I mean, really. You need a shot o...

l'adonai: A lonely extrovert
http://ladonai.blogspot.com/2010/04/lonely-extrovert.html
All of life. the good, the bad, and the mildly ridiculous. belongs to the lord. Friday, April 16, 2010. I was so TIRED by the time we got to Illinois, I just wanted to sleep forever. not from the driving, but just from the experience of solitude. Yep I am an extrovert. (Surprise! However. I am discovering that there is one crucial element of pastoral work that requires a LOT of alone time, and I can't say I am digging it. Preaching requires SO MUCH alone time! I'm drained from being by myself so much.

l'adonai: Little Town
http://ladonai.blogspot.com/2010/02/little-town.html
All of life. the good, the bad, and the mildly ridiculous. belongs to the lord. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Back when I was in 8th grade, I thought it would be super cool if I spent a good portion of a Saturday committing to memory all the words of the opening song of the epic Disney classic, "Beauty and the Beast.". Little town, it's a quiet village. Every day like the one before. Little town, full of little people, waking up to say. Good morning, Belle! Good morning, monsieur! That's nice. Marie!

All of life. the good, the bad, and the mildly ridiculous. belongs to the lord. Thursday, March 25, 2010. This retreat is known by many names. Cursillo, the Walk to Emmaus, TEC, Chrysallis. but the idea's essentially the same across the board. 72 hours of teaching, singing, prayer and all kinds of goofy adventures to get people to experience a relationship with Jesus. What would a grown-up version of Jesus-camp have to offer ME anyhow? And CS. Lewis says it best. when we pray we don't change God;...I can...

All of life. the good, the bad, and the mildly ridiculous. belongs to the lord. Tuesday, July 14, 2009. I'm a big kid now. So, the other day Dave and I discovered an extra 15K in the cushions of our couch and the pockets of our jeans so we thought, "What the heck? Let's buy a house! Yeah, so maybe it wasn't QUITE as simple as that. but we're still doing it. Ladies and gentlemen, the Bruners are becoming big kids. We have purchased a house. So Dave made the offer last week while I was busy shoveling dirt ...

There's plenty of room for him to play, kick, splash, etc., but without having to waste water by filling up the entire (big) bath tub. And, I like that I can just deflate this tub and pack it easily when we travel (which we do A LOT)! We tried it out last night for the first time (along w/ Micah's brand new robe that we got from a shower before he was born). My hubby and me.

All of life. the good, the bad, and the mildly ridiculous. belongs to the lord. Saturday, March 27, 2010. I was reminded of when I first really felt called into ministry- it was back at the end of high school. On my very last mission trip, there was a kid who was new to the church who decided to give his life to Christ at the end of the week. And somehow, I got to be a part of that conversation and prayer! With no sense of sadness or "what about me? You see, for almost a year now I have been praying that...

Today Siah and I were sitting at the table while he enjoyed peanut butter and jelly as only kids can, reading a stack of books. He received this book. He said, "Dep, momma, dep. Yeah-Yeah love baby Jesus." (Yep, momma, yep. Siah loves baby Jesus). I got choked so up and said, "Yeah Siah, momma loves baby Jesus too. And baby Jesus loves Siah." To which his eyes widened, and he said, "DEP! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hello, my name is. View my complete profile. I tend to dwell on these.
