A blog about our 2 year old boys fight with cancer. Friday, 1 April 2011. Who is this kid? They have stopped with the daily x-rays which I found a little odd. Turns out that the size of the tumor is no longer a factor in the length or type of treatment he will receive. This really worries me because I want to keep my eye on that sucker to make sure it's shrinking. On Sunday March 20th my 2 year old son Anderson was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-Cell). As you can imagine my wife and I are devastated. When the steroids kill the white blood cells a toxin is released into the blood that can cause something known as tumor lysis or TLS. Andy's white blood cell count was so high that we were expecting some complications because of this. Luckily Andy has not shown any signs of TLS.
