Friday, 6 January 2017. Oh yes, if you didn't know Jen from Quilter in the Closet is having another 100 Day Challenge. The challenge is,. 1) Pick 3 specific Quilty/Craft goals - finish some UFO's? Make that baby quilt? Doesn't matter, just be specific. Specificity helps so we don't justify changing our goals or rationalizing that we generally completed them when we only tried. Smiles From Kate: Join in the Party

http://smilesfromkate.blogspot.com/2016/12/yvonne-quilting-jetgirl-is-hosting-2017.html

Friday, 16 December 2016. Join in the Party. Yvonne @ Quilting Jetgirl is hosting a 2017 planning Linky Party! So exciting, first of all I had a good think, quilting and blogging plans, resolutions and thoughts, hmmmmmmm! I lost my way the past few months, sometimes life takes over and all the plans hopes and dreams fall by the wayside for a while, but I don't give up easily so here goes for next year. First the blogging, once a week is great for me, and then I don't bore you when progress is slow. I...

Smiles From Kate: August 2016

http://smilesfromkate.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

Friday, 26 August 2016. A late return but look what I did. I do have some progress to show you though which I started before I went away. Oh yes, the circles quilt is nearing completion and I gave it a good shake. You see although it looked good with the bright appliquéd blocks it was just a bit boring and needed some more interest, so, I added a stitch and flip triangle to the plain corners using 1.5 inch squares. It works, they are easier to press and you don't get the distortion you can otherwise get.

Smiles From Kate: What Happened to the Rejects?

http://smilesfromkate.blogspot.com/2016/09/what-happened-to-rejects.html

Wednesday, 21 September 2016. What Happened to the Rejects? Just to recap I showed you the block I designed, Barcodes. And explained a bit about the process with a pic of my rejects including. I loved the colours in the first one, so. Slightly unbalanced, but worth salvaging or what? Perfect for my rocking chair, which has new blue seat cushions. I used what I had for the backing, which has two colours to use up a 10 inch width of fabric strip of red and a smaller piece of blue. This was the last glimpse...

Smiles From Kate: October 2016

http://smilesfromkate.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html

Thursday, 27 October 2016. My week to date. Not much sewing gone on this week, not that I can show you anyhow. What with visitors and my sewing room in complete disarray, and I haven't told you about the heating problems yet, but guess what was delivered? Oh yes, it is here at long last. See how my machine sits in the cradle with the perspex template giving a flat surface, much better than an extension table. If remove the machine the base comes up giving me a large table for cutting or layering too.

Color, Creating and Quilting!: August 2016

https://colorcreatingandquilting.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html

Shadow Block Mini Gallery. Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Sewing Space and House Update. Every once in a while, a quilt blogger will show us her sewing space. Some of you ladies out there are born decorators! I really enjoy those "insider" views. My fellow quilt blogger Melva over at Melva Loves Scraps. Is hosting a linky party for anybody who would like to share their sewing space with us. My space is VERY temporary! So the fabric you see piled on that book case is everything I've purchased in the last year.

A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. February 18, 2017. A Blue Block for Sue. I had a good time pulling fabrics for this block. Perhaps I took the monochromatic direction a bit too literally, but I really liked the example blocks that Sue provided, and they led me to this blue:. I think this is a really cool block – very colorful and clean. Thanks for the inspiration Sue! I think these guys are appropriate for our group:. Our state question is ‘r...

I can’t wait to see what you all do! For my block I’m requesting the Inside Addition block originally designed by Jessica (@alittlegressica. At 8″ unfinished. A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. December 23, 2016. Just when I think I have narrowed down a block…I see something else! But I promise that I will have a post with the block and desired colors right after Christmas! Right now, I am furiously trying to finish quilting a Pokemon quilt for my 8 year old grandson. And the end is in sight! Binding is next…I like that, I can relax in front of the television and watch a movie! But it has been lots of fun!

A group of new friends, scattered across several continents, connected by a common hobby. March 8, 2017. In February, Sue had asked that we write a bit about where we live and I just did not get around to it while in Texas. So here I am back in Missouri and I am glad to be home. Don’t get me wrong, being a Winter Texan is great! Sue’s block was a joy to make, and I think I may have to use that in the next bee I am in. This could get addictive! As you can tell, Bella loved the block too! I am most fortuna...

Quilty Bloggers are the Best. All summer there have been posts from bloggers who have nominated some of their favorite bloggers for the One Lovely Blog award. It is another symbol of the friendly, kind community that quilters enjoy. This is a sweet way to recognize some of the bloggers that inspire us and sort of introduce them to other readers. In the beginning of August I was nominated by Kate of Smiles From Kate. So I am taking a minute to respond and play along. List seven facts about yourself. Seven...

Tish's Adventures in Wonderland. 2015 Aurifil Mini Quilts. Tuesday, August 30, 2016. I figured this meme was a great way to start off this post. Or maybe the one that says, "the only place housework comes before quilting is in the dictionary." That also sounds pretty accurate. So why in the world am I going on about my sewing room, or mess of a sewing room(s)? Well, if you haven't ran into it yet, Melva from Melva Loves Scraps. Necessities can be found in three rooms of the house. The first place is ...
