Scenes From Our Life. Sharing moments of our lives since 2008. Sunday, October 7, 2012. Miriam with her penguin. Miriam broke her arm last month while jumping on the trampoline. It broke above her elbow and required surgery to realign the bones and pin them together. She had a softer cast for a week to allow the swelling to go down and then got her hard cast last week. She only has to wear the hard cast for two weeks. And especially at Primary Children's Medical Center. Miriam with her pink cast.

On our way home, we decided to visit my brother, Andrew and his wife, Christy. They live in Montana near Glacier National Park, so we got to spend some time with them watching the Olympics and seeing beautiful landscapes. We enjoyed our time with them. We decided after ordering her glasses that the children and I would visit my family in Washington for a few weeks. So Neil was able to pick them up when they came in and mail them to her. Even though I would have breastfeed if I could I still feel guilty that I used formula. I had never heard of breast milk banks until my youngest was over year old. My brain knows there wasn't anything I could do differently but my heart still feels that guilt. Will this guilt ever go away? Will I ever come to terms with the fact that my body didn't do what it was supposed to?

The Smith Family Blog. Thursday, October 15, 2009. A New Addition to the Family! And No, it's not a baby! For as long as I can remember Maddi has always wanted a kitty. So a few weeks ago we got one for her! She is a Bengal kitten, which means that she is part Asian Leopard. She is going to be the normal size of a regular cat, but she is colored beautifully because of her grandparents! Because of her bloodline, we decided to name her Raja, the name of Princess Jasmine's Tiger in the Disney movie Aladdin.
