About 3 years ago my good friend and colleague Coach Kyle of Team Texas sent me a christmas card. it has sat on my fridge, and the new fridge, since i received it. if i ever question whether or not i want to do this anymore, i always refer back to this card. What Coach Kyle has done with his program and for youth climbing in general is nothing but inspiring to me. i have always felt we would not be where we are today without him and his club. First Smith Trip of 2008. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. We then moved over to Cinnamon Slab (5.6 trad) so I could get some more trad leading miles under me. I felt pretty comfortable leading that, though you wouldn't know it from all the gear I plugged in! Sunday, we tried to get started a bit earlier, but ended up waiting quite a while to get on Eight Gallon Buckets (5.10c, sport), but it was worth the wait! I've only done the 5.9 version before and the 10c extension is much more fun! Me with Fred Beckey!
