Fireweed Among the Magnolias: August 2015
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Monday, August 24, 2015. First Day of School. 3rd Grade. I can't believe it! When did these boys grow up so fast? 6th Grade, First Day of Middle School. I guess today was just a hug your sister kind of day. It’s bitter because another summer has gone by. No more late nights, camp outs, water parks and visits from family. Each new school year is a stark reminder that they won’t stop growing up, that another year of childhood is in the books. Every year before school starts Ch...

http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Saturday, January 3, 2015. Jason's friend from work gave us his air hockey table. We have had a blast today playing each other. Grandma Smith taught Sophie about seeding and brackets and then helped her organize a family tournament. And, no surprise, Sophie then won the tournament! Sophie was first, Jason second, I was third and Grandma Smith 4th. Friday, January 2, 2015. Luke and Noah's Baptism and Birthday. Jared Lindsay and the boys. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: September 2014
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Saturday, September 27, 2014. Sunday, September 7, 2014. End of the Summer. Luke and Noah played basketball this summer at the YMCA. They had a great coach and learned a lot. Both boys can actually make a left handed lay up! I'm not sure I can, but they practiced it over and over. Lots of fun inside in the air conditioned Y! We went swimming at Fairy Stone as our last adventure before school started. It was cloudy and a bit cool, but we made the best of it and had fun. Pictu...

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: March 2015
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Saturday, March 14, 2015. Today is 3.1415 - once every century! Of course we celebrated with pie, Key Lime and Chocolate Silk. Today was also the Battle of Guilford Courthouse annual reenactment. It was wet and muddy, not as cold as it was in 1781 though. Jayden had never been to a reenactment before, or Abby. It was fun, and wet, and muddy. The mix of star wars cloaks becoming soldiers and various and assorted weapons made me laugh. Grace made a colonial hat by wearing ...

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: May 2015
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Sunday, May 10, 2015. Garrett Morgan and Frederick McKinnley Jones. Way back in February Luke and Noah did a research project and were "wax museum" figures for African American History month. Noah was Frederick McKinnley Jones, inventor of portable refrigeration. Luke was Garrett Morgan,he invented several things including one of the first traffic lights and the gas mask. Making a gas mask out of a bee hood was a super good idea! How are these girls 11? I can't believe my gir...

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: February 2015
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Tuesday, February 24, 2015. This was the view out my window this morning! Jason was up first, before 6, and came in and told me school was canceled. We had no idea it was going to snow! Wasn't forecast at all yesterday. Crazy NC weather. My view for the past 11 days has been this. This is my other view, out the windows behind the couch. I have enjoyed the snow as much as you can without being able to play or be out in it. Karate and Catch up.

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: How are these girls 11???????
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015/05/how-are-these-girls-11.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Sunday, May 10, 2015. How are these girls 11? I can't believe my girls are 11. Seriously. 11 seems sooooo much older then 10. 10 still seems like a kid in some ways, 11 is definitely grown up so much to me as their mom. I think they had a good birthday. Grace needed to run the mile at school and was nervous. She ended up running 3 minutes faster then last year! My sweet Grace has some Hardy blood in there.lots of closed eyes in this years pics! Fireweed Among the Magnolias: June 2014
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Sunday, June 1, 2014. So I thought I would post some pictures of our beekeeping adventures. Jason and I are learning a ton, bees are really cool! But they are unpredictable and beekeeping is an art and a science. There are a lot of different opinions about how and why to do different things with your bees. You kind of just have to jump in and get started and figure things out as you go. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Women in the Scriptures. Quinn and Ben Blend Ten.

Fireweed Among the Magnolias: Back to the Stone Ages...
http://fireweedamongthemagnolias.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-to-stone-ages.html
Fireweed Among the Magnolias. Friday, August 7, 2015. Back to the Stone Ages. After 2 years of just using cell phones, I ordered a home phone from Amazon this week. It came today. Grace opened it and then bemoaned for about 10 minutes that it was ancient technology. She even asked if it was going on the wall, adding that it would be SO EMBARRASSING! Sophie just snuck into the boys room and did an air horn app on her ipod to scare them. It worked. She is such a little turd sometimes ;). And We Sailed On.
