Smith's Jamaican Mission: Utah State Fair

http://smithsjamaicanmission.blogspot.com/2012/10/utah-state-fair.html

Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Sam and Emilee with Talus and Baden along with Grandma and Grandpa attended the Utah State Fair.actually Sam left at noon to fly back to Anchorage, AK. We had a great time. The boys loved the 'hands on' farming display and planted and harvested and drove tractors and sold their goods and bought treats! Thanks so much to the FFA for the good education for all. We were the first riders of the day on the giant slide and so got two rides for the price of one! View my complete profile.

Smith's Jamaican Mission: Christian's Baptism

http://smithsjamaicanmission.blogspot.com/2012/10/christians-baptism.html

Thursday, October 18, 2012. Parents Kurt and Emily Smith, Grandparents John and Alana Sheffield, Harold and Dianne Smith. Clark and his friend - both with broken arms! Every missionary LOVES baptisms - and when it is a very special person already - so great! This is the last family that we hadn't seen since our return from Jamaica - so this will be the last post for this blog. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Smith's Jamaican Mission: North Carolina Visit

http://smithsjamaicanmission.blogspot.com/2012/10/north-carolina-visit.html

Tuesday, October 9, 2012. Sorry - just realized that I have posted some of these pictures and stories twice - that's what happens when you are OLD . and getting older every minute! We flew to North Carolina and had a great visit with Jennie and Jason's family. They were getting the garden boxes ready for winter - we harvested and kept beans for seed, and marigold seeds also. Jumping on the tramp was so much fun! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Stake Conference Granada Hills, California.

And We Sailed On: Home

http://sheffieldsmiths.blogspot.com/2015/07/home.html

And We Sailed On. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. The fourth of July this year was the first time since we have been married that we have been out of town for the 4th and the first time in my life we didn't see fireworks! It was fun and different. Christian and Savanna both rode in the kids rodeo and were able to ride on cows and I had no idea that they would buck like that! It was amazing. We enjoyed the small town parade and mini ice cream cones for breakfast! And We Sailed On. Weekly family photo project.

ElkinsMission: March 2012

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 25, 2012. This is a picture that will be forever imprinted on my heart. Soldiers blessing the sacrament. What more can I say? Friday, March 23, 2012. When I feel sorry for myself because of missing all of the wonderful friends we've made here, I'll remember the last words of our dear friend Ashley:. See you there.". Friday, March 9, 2012. It isn't going to be easy to beat me! I call this a "knot" of soldiers. Some of our soldiers elect to take marshall arts training in addition to regular P...

ElkinsMission: December 2011

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 30, 2011. I absolutely love these natural Christmas trees that grow here. The little red berries are so festive and fun! There are trees with red berries everywhere. Some have leaves, some are just berries, some are trimmed like this into a Christmas tree shape. I would like to steal one to put in my house. I wouldn't even have to decorate it! We were happy to have permission to spend Christmas with our daughter and her family. Our oldest grandson turned twelve a couple days before Chris...

ElkinsMission: Tender Mercies and Transfers

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012/01/tender-mercies-and-transfers.html

Friday, January 27, 2012. Tender Mercies and Transfers. This is a dear friend who used to come out to our Ft. Eustis Group to teach some of the Sunday lessons to the soldiers. Just before Christmas she and her husband were blessed with a sweet little son who will soon be legally adopted and sealed for eternity. What joy! We had the privilege of attending "transfer meeting" yesterday in Richmond. This is where all of the new missionaries are matched up to their companions, who will be trainers. We...This ...

ElkinsMission: September 2011

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 9, 2011. The Chaplain called us! In the afternoon we drove to the Norfolk airport (1 hour away) to get Soldier K. After a couple calls and 1 1/2 hours of flight delays we were finally able to pick him up. The poor man had been travelling all day from California and had a major headache. I knew how he felt because flying makes me sick too. We finally got him delivered back to the base. Tuesday we had to be on base early for In-Processing which is usually on Monday, but was delayed becaus...

ElkinsMission: February 2012

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Everybody is named "Elder". I just wanted to add that the cute wife our our new stake president counselor is from one of the Carribbean countries and has a really fun accent. When we heard her speak of her conversion to the Church she said, "When we were being taught by the missionaries I thought that if we joined the church we would have to name all of our sons Elder. " Ha ha ha. Sunday, February 26, 2012. Manwiches for the soldiers. Elder S got the staples out of the back of...

And We Sailed On: April 2015

http://sheffieldsmiths.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

And We Sailed On. Friday, April 24, 2015. Prayers are always answered. Faye just makes life fun. So does 8 inches of snow in April. Now things are turning green and the garden is looking promising and I love that! It's funny to me that I didn't realize that the sun was reflecting so brightly off of Savanna's blonde hair when I took this picture. Poor Kurt, it's bouncing back right on his face! And We Sailed On. Weekly family photo project. Monday, April 13, 2015. Psalms 46: 5, 10. And We Sailed On. It's ...

ElkinsMission: Challenging week

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012/03/here-are-most-of-senior-missionaries-in.html

Friday, March 9, 2012. Here are most of the senior missionaries in the Virginia Richmond Mission. We get together once a quarter for a dinner and visiting. It is a great time to share experiences and laugh together. In our mission there are 4 military couples. In the whole world there are 54 military couples. Since 2005 the Ft. Eustis missionaries have had this number so it would have been a chore to contact everyone. In less than 4 weeks we will hand this phone over to a new couple. Ok, so we got the ph...

ElkinsMission: THE END

http://elkinsmission.blogspot.com/2012/04/end.html

Friday, April 6, 2012. How can I express the feelings that we have as our 18 month mission ends? We have loved so many soldiers, helped, cried, laughed, served, and learned. It is with joy that we say that we will never be the same. Our hearts are forever changed. It is a good change. Now we head home and on to the next adventure.. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Smith's Situation

Elder and Sister Smith. Sunday, November 2, 2014. We left our family in Pennsylvania and flew into Salt Lake City on October 27th, arriving at 10:18 in the morning. Thousands of mixed emotions! We have the best of several worlds! People we love in Grenada and family and friends we love at home. How lucky are we? The big WELCOME HOME party that began at the airport in Salt Lake City. Our grandchildren showing off the necklaces that Ryan made in Grenada out of native seeds, shells and coconuts. Sunday, Oct...

The Smith Family

Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Sadie is 3 now. She's feisty and crazy, but we love her lots and lots. She has been going through binky withdrawals for the last 2 days (yes, I FINALLY took it away), and her behavior is resembling that of a smoker who finally quits. If you EVER give your kids binkies, please save yourself some serious headaches and take them away before they are 1. Nuf said. She loves her dolls and anything ultra girly. Of course, we love her lots and lots as well. She's getting so old, and sh...
